thats very interesting Adrakky . I ate some last year , it was the worst smell I could imagine anything i would ever eat  , would smell like , but after eating some , I went back for seconds , and thirds ,, even a fourth helping. I cant explain it , other than I really liked it .

research been done on orang utan, elephant, dog, many others even on tiger...when place a few different kinda foodstuffs, the animals always go for durian 1st..some even ignore the rest after they finish up with durian..the apes are place btwn durian and peeled babanas..they din look at the bananas at all....I love durian too :)) no.1 fruit!!

It is the king of fruits. It's hard to generalize its taste since some experience it differently. A lot of them have said durian resembles: custard/pudding, banana, coconut, onion, feet, sweat, citrus taste. Once you overcome the smell its quiet tasty.

Actually, Westerners (specifically North American) only eat a very small spectrum of all available food sources. For example, mostly Beef, Pork, Chicken or Lamb for protein. A small selection of fish (salmon, cod, tuna), crustaceans (shrimp, lobster, crab) and vegetables.

'Westerner' consider a lot of European or Asian food 'exotic'. My advice to them is to travel more and see the world.

What's 'exotic' to them is everyday food for the rest of us.
