why is ramsay considered as good? just cuz of hells kitchen? u seen him cut his finger on ellen? he looks like he has a coke habit, he would never try to become an iron chef becuz in his mind he knows he cant do it
@purdudan you guys clearly have poor judgement, iron chef is no joke u have to have the creativeness of a chef while u cook it and make it happen as well, ramsay looks like the chef that just thinks shit through and has the mexicans cook everything during service, why hasnt he ever been invited to compete in kitchen stadium? lame..
@MrPhresh420 I don't see why you have to attack me or Chef Ramsay. I am merely stating a fact: he does his shows by himself with him as the focus; so indeed, being w/ other chefs would be a downgrade for him. Would he lose? Probably, probably not. If you've seen the F Word, Chef Ramsay competes with non-chefs through blind taste tests. Sometimes he loses but most of the times he wins, he doesn't go crazy about it. He has already won his credibility through the much-coveted 3rd star.
sucks that the food wastn fresh. il would take too long for them to carry the vegies that they picked to kitchen stadium so they just used the vegies from the stadium
I don't really agree with your husband's policies, Mrs. Obama, but good on you for planting a garden at the White House and being such a staunch advocate of healthy eating. It's really nice to see someone with that much influence drawing attention to such an important issue.
Michelle Obama announcing the secret ingredient isnt the same as the chairman, he should of just appeared in a crane lifting up a massive swimming pool size basin while shouting "WHITE HOUSE GARDEN!!" from a loud speaker, but unfortunately i dont think they allow industrial size vehicles into the White House
I am a Filipino and I can assure you that we have food identity. We have 7,000 plus islands and dont you think those islands didnt have any own version of their own food? We have so many dishes to offer..not just adobo, spring roll or noodles. Our foods are simple we dont use any spices to make it good we just cook it from our heart . Believe me, visit Philippines and you will be amazed how many dishes you will experience.
Well, try Sinigang ( sour soup with vegetables and you can choose, chicken, pork, beef, fish or beef bones along with it ) Kalderata ( it's a beef with tomato sauce ) , BBQ dishes, Sweet and Sour Tilapia, Chicken with Coconut Milk, Pork Sisig ( its porks cheeks minced and served with sizzling plate with sunny-side up eggs on top and native lime ) and also our TAPSILOG.. its a version of fast food breakfast with friend rice, eggs, hotdogs, so many variation. enjoy!
@newagepun there are more countries than just Spain and China! i put more in my original comment but the message was too long and i was too lazy to retype it on my itouch, so that part was laziness on my part. anthony bourdain only provides only an hour/ 30 minutes of the Philippines and sometimes the food in a show isnt representing the best of it. (which i am sure the Philippines is not the only one misrepresented) You are most definitely entitled to your opinion but i still stand with mine
i love how either Emeril or Mario said "this is how we should cook everyday" cause it's so true, there is something so special and really intriguing to me about cooking foods that you JUST harvested yourself from a fresh garden.
If you think about it, wouldn't taking fruits and vegetables from the White House garden to prepare meals at Kitchen Stadium in New York City defeat the purpose of using locally grown produce? That would be a bigger waste of money than just buying locally, don't you think?
In the reality of television editing, the White House produce was donated to a local food pantry, while more local produce was provided to the chefs in Kitchen Stadium.
@xXKushkinXx According to his biography on his website, he wears orange clogs. However, Crocs are clogs made of foam resin. I suppose the biography does not want to give out the brand name.
Meanwhile, "amico" is Italian for "friend", similar to the Spanish "amigo".
@Dierwolf2000 you ought to watch that ep of anthony bourdain when he went the philippines and his guide was boring as fuck. Its a complete dichotomy of what you think. There is no real food identity of the philippines. If anything, comerford is going by experience along with her own expertise and interpretation.
@newagepun I'm going to have to disagree with you (I have no means to start any fight and i apologize if what i say offends you or anyone in any matter). There is a food identity in the Philippines! however the Philippines has been influenced by many cultures, namely Spanish, but they do put a spin to it. (for example, adobo or menudo). Also, just because a guide is boring on television does not make a place boring. The Philippines has much to offer for a tourist. (although there are places
@frickenawsumsauce namely spanish? how about the chinese which the Philippines has been in contact with for CENTURIES before the spanish? I'm not talking about spins of stuff, but something that has long existed before Spain came that even the natives have long passed down. Not adobo, or other certain foods which have different iterations depending on what part of the Philippines you go.
@frickenawsumsauce and my point about the guide is that he was suppose to be bourdain's supposed food guide yet there were many guys bourdain talked to before him that showed how all over the place pinoy cuisine is. Hence my argument on not having a real food identity that is distinctly pinoy, not something that is an iteration of a dish from set regions of the country.
Damn. They make cooking sound so serious -- like a CIA mission. Simply epic. Hell, I was cooking dinner just a while ago while listening to some SimCity music.
GOD, Cristeta Comerford? She is the brilliant chef of the White House who grew up in the Philippines, isn't she? Wow! this is awesome! Thanks for uploading this! :)

@MrPhresh420 Ramsay is a world-class 3-star Michelin chef. In fact, Iron Chef would be a downgrade for him as he won't be the main star.
