Hero sailors of the Royal Navy sang "look upon the bright side of life" from Life of Brian after their ship was sunk during the Falklands war, to keep their spirits up. English poems back to Anglo Saxon times end in Resurrection: "look upon the bright side of life" could easily be understood by a real Christian as the hope of Resurrection.
