This is NOT the real Mt. Sinai! Why would the Israelites stay in Egypt when trying to escape. Or even better, since we should be going by what the Word of God says, why would they cross the Red Sea and go BACK to Egypt?

Egypt was west of where the modern Suez canal is & the part of the Red Sea they crossed would have been the narrow channel near where the Suez canal is...

@PSAVA74 This isn't a Holy mountain. It's not even the Real Mt. Sinai! It is a copy made to distract people from seeing the actually Mt. Sinai where Moses was given the Ten Commandments! The actual biblical Mt. Sinai is in Arabia. Fenced off and with a large burn mark on top from when the Power of God struck the mountain with fire and lightning. and the remnants of other artifacts are there as well. Such as the altar for the golden calf.

I went up last night this morning - and the lull in tourism since the events in Egypt meant that instead of over 100 ppl at the top waiting for sunrise, there was our single tour group of 6, complete silence, very awe inspiring. and a peaceful trek up and down the mountain. The time is definitely now to visit the Red Sea, I live out here, and I am a British national, and everything is peaceful and happy in the South Sinai.
