It is better for prophets to die as martyrs then for false prophets to mislead people and to kill people as did Muhammad. God blessed Abraham. Ishmael was also Abraham's son, even his firstborn. Both of them have the birthright. Jewish scriptures tend not to dwell on Ishmaels story, it does not mean Ishmael was not blessed. There is also a promise with Abraham's son Ishmael in Genesis 17:20

And By the Way: Isaac the son of Abraham, father of the Jews, was not Jewish - (just like Ishmael!). Cause Judah wasn't even born yet. Is Judah really more important to you than Isaac?
