  • How long does it keep its operation in proper order? I'm pretty sure that ring will give you trouble in the long run as dust, water, oil, and dirt will wear it down and mess up the electronics. Less moving parts is more desirable.

  • @Blitz4000 We haven't had any returned yet because of failure in the ring.

  • @goingprepared Give it time, in the long run I'm pretty sure the light will tend to flicker when moving the ring as it is part of the circuit. Even my fenix did this because the cap inside the tail cap came loose but re-tightening it with circlip pliers fixed it and it is like new again.

  • Are you sure that 4D Maglite is fully focused? I have several Maglites and I've always been able to get them to focus to a virtual laser beam spot. Either way we know the new LED lights blow it away in terms of brightness. It's amazing we got along without these super bright LED lights all this time. Even the Maglites, which used to blow you away in terms of brightness look like $2 cheap plastic flashlights in comparison now. I love the variable output rings, nice.

  • @Gungfuman77 Yes, it is focused as tightly as it can be.

  • @goingprepared Maybe something with the 4D version as I only own the 3D ones. Thanks Marshall, great videos as always.

  • I got my rrt-0 xml today and found a hidden mode by accident. Hold the ring and twist the flashlight left to right five times fast and there it is an sos mode.

  • @brunochato2 Yeah, I never mention that since I am so bad at activating it.

  • It has SOS to... 3 fast turns back and forth with the output ring

  • Is this light American made?

  • @torgomax No, JETBeam is a Chinese company. Surefire and HDS are the US brands we stock.

  • @Alfox94 The S2 version has 7% higher output, so that one would be my choice.

  • is this worth the $100 when i can get a klarus nt10 with 230 lumens and some pretty kool modes also?

  • @TheJasper808 Depends on if you want that variable ring or not. I personally really like the ring.

  • Is this light fully regulated with 16340? Or do you notice any dimming when the battery is almost depleted? does it shuts off immediately when the battery is depleted?

  • @dhouseng Not sure, that is probably a question for the CPF crowd. I never use 16340s.

  • @dhouseng I own 2 Jetbeam RRT-0 flashlights with R2 & R5 LEDs along with many Fenix lights, some Quarks, and an Olight. Rechargeables can be used with Jetbeam, Quark, and Olight. When using rechargeables the runtimes and light output are excellent with no noticeable dimming, but when the charge runs too low the light snaps off without warning. Just keep the run time in mind when you're running rechargeables: just as a scuba diver would keep his exposure to depth in mind.

  • Can you provide the links for the other flashlights mentioned in the video please?

  • @eydaimon Can't post links in comments, but you can do a search on our site for them. They are all there.

  • how come on the jetbeam website for the rrt-0 r5 does NOT advertise the ring as how you show/have it? According to the website, it doesnt have strobe

    Using AA Battery

High Mode 180 Lumens, 1 hours

Daily Mode 120 Lumens, 2.5 hours

Mid Mode 50 Lumens, 6 hours

Low Mode 15 Lumens, 15 hours

Lower Low Mode 3 Lumen, 50 hours

  • @caspar37 It's a different version. They have gone through a few iterations.

  • @goingprepared is yours the most recent one or is the one on the web the most recent one?

  • @caspar37 The one in the video is the most recent one. The one on their site is still the one with the distinct settings.

  • And... I'm gonna buy one.

  • @MTNPANTS Good call, it's a sweet light.

  • I really want one. Read on CPF that a lot of people are getting them without clips. Has this been remedied already?

  • @glutn4punshmnt Not yet, but it will be soon.

  • Is there a visible difference between the AA configuration and the CR123 configuration?

  • @Delta8559272 If it's anything like the RRT-0 R5 then yes there is a noticeable difference. It's still a very bright light running w/ eneloops and well worth the money. I'll be grabbing one of these as a companion to my RRT-0 R5. Max for CR123 is 255 lumens and AA is 180 according to specs.

  • @Delta8559272 Yes, definitely. The AA configuration has a noticeably lower output.

  • Very cool!

Thanks for Keeping up the great reviews Marshall!

  • nice product.
