Brilliant and fun track to dance to. Sly and Robbie worked their signature dub, drum & bass magic on this. That interlude that starts at 1:42 to 2:42...... Had to have heard it at the Garage, Larry worked this up to the hilt. Who knows what I'm talking about?
Not many clubs would play this but the one's that did where the trend setters...84 king was famous for it though there was no telling when larry would play this cause that Brother was unpredictable...which is why we loved him so....cause you never know what he was going to play...and neither did he....we flew by the seat of our pants at the "G"...thnx for the rare Post....no comments about hearing this on the regular radio huh...Peace & Love
This was a favorite cut played by Larry Levan at the Paradise Garage. I fortunately have the 12" but I am trying to find it on CD or transfer the vinyl to mp3.
I remember buying "Lord Upminster" from a bargain bin in K-Mart (Australia) for a buck when i was 12 yrs old - this reminds me of how much fun music could have been then (compared to the prevalent doomy depressing sounds of bands around at the time such as Joy Division and A Certain Ratio) and to hell with the BBC for banning this song - I hope society has become more tolerant of people with disabilities and mental health problems in this day and age.
I won't, I've been a fan since I got New Boots and Panties in 1978. Haven't found any posh in Burnham-on-Crouch though. I'm thinking that was a bit of humour on his part.

Maybe they are 'a nice bit of posh' compared to them in Billericay!

So place your hard-earned peanuts in my tin
Bought this in San Francisco in the summer of '81.
How come the Blockheads haven't sent out the guys with the bent noses and violin cases to sort you out Mr. Turkeypants?
