  • how much did you pay for it like 5 6 grand? after i get a SUV i might get another camaro down the roadl the one i have now is decent but beat to hell and back.

  • @arnoni11 Same here why I am selling my LT1 to buy something more fresh and less used up.

  • Was anything needed to get those ls1 seats in? does the power just plug and play?

  • @willymywonka Yep plug and play. They are actually my old seats, I now have racing seats!

  • @JoeliusZ28 This car is absolutely gorgeous and i've seen it on ls1tech. So it has stock heads? you got the cam from advanced inductions right? I was thinking of going with a lloyed elliot cam

How much in parts do you think you racked up.

i hate to come off as a youtube retard, but i've owned plenty of lt1's, just looking for some insight

  • @willymywonka Yea I got the complete AI kit plus a few other things like a timing set and electric water pump. I spent around $2k on the whole build but i did everything the right way including a fresh valve job ($400) and I upgraded the oil pump pressure spring which has probably been a saving grace for the original bottom end!

  • @JoeliusZ28 I didn't know AI sold complete cam only kits. I know they port heads like lloyd. Where did you get the kit from? AI's site? do you happen to have a link?

I think a cam only set up is the way to go for me, and will be plenty enough to beat the full bolt on mustangs running around here. Currently i run a 125 zex wet shot, with longtubes and other bolt on's. That's plenty enough but I want the sound of a cam at idle.

  • @willymywonka if youre on a budget, cam-only is the way to go. I did deck the heads for extra compression though. The car made 373rwhp as it hit the stock 5850 rev-limiter. I have the dyno video with the graph uploaded here. The power curve is awesome, torque peaks very early and holds flat as a table all the way to the limiter!

    cam-kits are at:

    advancedinduction[dot]com[slash]AiProductsCK[dot]html

  • @JoeliusZ28 Thanks alot for that link.

I think i'm going to go with this cam, because with some ported heads i'll see 400+ down the road.

wow 373 to the wheels that's very impressive. I love how my buddy has a fully built 2v mustang and he puts down 293 lol, and he spent 4x the money i'm going to spend on a cam only set up lol.

Your car is straight gorgeous I can't wait to get my z painted. i'm blakez28 on ls1tech

Is there anything else I need to know before pulling the trigger on this cam?

  • @willymywonka Well AI recommends some extra compression, which is what i did and it worked well. I'd have probably hit 380 if i raised my limiter. My numbers are above average, but I guarantee thats because of the duals and LS1 lid. They both made a huge difference. I know it would not have dyno'd that well with the single 3" and SLP CAI i had before. LT1 heads are really not as bad as people make them out to be. Its amazing the performance gains you see just using the right bolt-ons.

  • @willymywonka I guess the point I was trying to make there is it amazes me how many people invest hundreds of dollars in headwork or intake porting on these things only to put it all behind a restrictive intake elbow. Simple things go a long way on LT1 builds.

  • @JoeliusZ28 That's big cubes for you. Old school hot rodding still works for these things. Bump up the compression a little and throw in a lopey cam and you're over 370 to the wheels.

Do you still have this car? How many miles l do you think you put on the cam?

  • @willymywonka its stock cubes, no stroker. Yea I still have the car, Ive put about 10k miles on since the swap id say.

  • Ai head/cam kit??

  • @madballz28 just the cam kit.

  • Loving it. I have a similar cam ready to going into my LT1 T/A. With all the bolt on's I have, it should make some serious power. I also ordered 916 comp cam valve springs, 1.6 roller rockers, ls7 lifters, 36# injectors, and will be getting a custom computer tune. when all is said and done it should be making some serious street power.

  • @dodge69874 I put down 373 while hitting the stock 5850rpm rev limiter.

  • Hey man how close are the mufflers and pipes to the gas lines? Did you have to move them?

  • @IronOutlaw101 Theyre fairly close. I moved them out of the way as much as i could (flipped the bracket in the tunnel over, etc). I plan on changing it all to braided stainless and running it down the driver side, but there has been nothing wrong with it the way it is for the last 2 years.

  • God i'd kill to have this car, Well I have a black Z like this now :D maybe someday It'll be like this one

  • Is the hood stripe paint or decal? I cant find the magna decals for anything but an LS style SS hood...

  • @mavsformula

its custom painted, its kandy apple with a metal flake in it.

  • Hi there, any chance of letting me know the part number stamped on these mufflers please? Are they the very short 40 series "delta force" or the longer "delta flow"?? Mean machine my friend!!!

  • @PORTNOY72 the car is stored on the other side of the state but as i recall they are the delta forces

  • POWER TO THE CAMARO Z28

  • that is one sick soundin camaro, does the 40 series drone much inside?

  • yes it does. thats why i am planning on adding tailpipes soon.

  • I have a 94 Formula 6-Speed that just rolled over 40,000 miles completely stock. It's time to make it sound like that... Where did you get that cam? How much do you think it would cost to buy the same cam, headers, h pipe, and mufflers as your car?

  • the cam is an advanced induction grind. google them and you will find their site. Ive probably got 3 grand in all this junk haha.

  • mods list?

  • original motor with a 226/234 advanced induction cam, decked heads (11.4:1 compression), electric water pump, pacesetter full length headers, and this exhaust is a full 3" system with an H-pipe and delta 40 flowmasters.

  • alot of people are saying its fine and its just my bearings and new valve guides wearing in. Im gonna try new oil this weekend and see what happens.

  • Well I hope thas all it is....best of luck to ya, I hope all is well with it.

  • turned out being just the valve guides, the oil has been staying clean now :)

  • SAVAGE!

  • Dang, sounds great! I've got three inch duals on my '70 Chevy truck, its three inch from the headers back...I've also got flowmasters...You'll have to make a new video of driving now that you've got this setup on it, I bet it sounds killer going down the road.

  • yea it does. I want to get a driving video but unfortunately i think i spun a bearing yesterday :(

  • OH H3LL I sure hope not, was it low of oil or what?

  • Nah, i think its just the risk i was taking making ~360rwhp with a 93,000 mile motor.

  • Yeah, it is a risk, it really depends on how well the engines been taken care of and how high of RPMS you've been turning and for how long. But I'm sure you know that...But heck its a Chevy 350, it'll be fine, I know a guy who has a '92 chevy truck with a 350 in it and its got 228K on it and the oil hasn't been changed in probably 8 years now..its an ole' work truck and he revs it to 5K almost weekly.

  • turned out being just my new valve guides wearing in putting crap in the oil. motors fine so far after some fresh oil :)
