Great interview. I always enjoy listening to the builders. Kudos for taking up the history and discussing the competition. The patch-bay is a welcome addition, I might just find a home for this little beauty in the near future.
Liked the video. Can't wait to see part two. I got a MIDI version on order and can't wait for them to ship. I wonder if Tom will reissue the programmer for these babys.
We've actually been talking about doing more interviews with the "legends of synthesis". The main complication is that the whole "coffee meet crew" that Tom refers to (Dave Smith, Roger Linn, Buchla, etc.) are all in the Bay Area, and we're in LA, but we may still do it.
Great stuff. I hope you can do more interviews like this. Roger Linn would be a great one too. As would Dave Smith and maybe even some of the rank and file engineers or techs. Kind of like TapeOp but SynthOp!
Great job Tom! Please reissue a new version of the OBX-a.

If Alan R. Pearlman reads this: Please, make it like Tom and bring out the original ARP 2600 again!

SynthOp - what a great idea!

I mentioned it to Larry Crane too. I think Mitchell should write a few articles for them.

Tom Oberheim is responsible for some of the best sounding synthesizers ever made, IMO. Still my favorite of all the well known synth manufacturers.
