  • FOCK! My sandcastle!

  • That is so wicked. I would like to check it out. Before they moved the Austin airport to the outskirts of the city they flew real slow and low over our house all day and all night which was just north of UT campus. Nothing compared to that in the video but close enough you could feel the power, rumble, and sometimes moisture from them. Sounds annoying but I actually got a kick out of it. Especially when the American Airlines Jumbo's would fly over.

  • As impressive as A380's are, you still have to give respect to the big 47!

  • @panamcunard right you are...AND the 747 is ONLY 53 years old!!!!!!

  • Why would the passengers or the pilots be screaming? The thrill of Sint-Maarten is for the people on the beach, for those inside the plane it is a simple, regular landing. Sint-Maarten is not challenging at all for pilots. They don't give a shit if there is a beach, a meadow, water, a corn field or something else in front of the runway. As long as it has no height, it is of no importance or concern.

  • How many? ... 1 meter? :D

  • lets put justin bieber onto the face !!!!

  • haha id love that when youre sun bathing

  • nice place , nice beach for sun bath and enjoyment, gud one

  • nice high landing. this is how you should land at st.marteen

  • Listen closely, you can hear the passengers screaming.

  • @TRUDOWNSOUTH

you even hear the pilots screaming too!

  • \ zajebiste !!!

  • wow that was a high one!

  • wow that was a high one!

  • This isn't Puerto Rico. This is St.Maarten. It says so in the title.

  • I just have to visit there to see this in person!

  • nvm it was bread

  • at the end was that a beer truck that pass =3

  • @deathblazeable1 no, was a bread truck

  • wow guys Mullet Bay is like a few minutes from there

if you don't like this beach go to the OTHER one lol :P

  • wat country is this??

  • @MrHindi147 St. Maarten

  • @MrHindi147 puerto rico

  • Awesome video!! Nice quality!! My daughter was there in January 2010 and she said she ate sand!!! lol

Thanks for sharing!!! Definite "Like" and share!!

  • i would stay all day at this beach

  • I'll go there and record this the right way with HD camera for youtube....the right light,on the tripod...

  • This is one of the high approaches^^

  • lol i love the danger sign =D

  • @EmperorMarcusNovius it is the TUI colors but this is corsairflys 747 -carrying 582pax and 15 in the crew :D

  • How low can you go

  • not even 50 feet :D

  • I've always wanted to know: are a plane's tires flat-spotted on every landing? How often do they have to be changed out?

  • @phantomlord54

I heard that usually after 300 landings... It mostly depends on what surface the aircraft is landing (i.e. dry/wet/ice). But the number isn't lower than 100 landings...

    @(anyone)

Correct me, if I'm wrong ;)

  • You can waist a couple of new tyres on one occasion at once with both your feet firmly on the brakes during landing.

  • Exactly, that's why they set braking force during the approach (as I remember there are 4 levels - 1, 2, 3 and MAX - I don't have anymore data in this subject)

  • Don't forget to select autobrakes. Does manual foot braking overrides the system?

  • I was talking about autobrakes. :)

I don't think it overrides the system. More likely it's just a braking 'shot' (manual brakes use full braking power).

NOTICE: I'm talking about my experience in MS Flight Sim - not a professional simulator, which is used for real pilot's training. Braking settings may differ in a real plane.

  • Not much of an autobrake, is it? Don't know. Never flew anything bigger than Falcon 20 (no autospoilers, no autobrakes on that one).

  • when i think beach.. i think quiet and relaxing lol!

  • Never mind and roger. U gave me a heavy smile.

  • Absolutely ridiculous. There is no excuse for crossing the threshold at less than 50' AGL in a heavy. That's sickening behavior!

  • Nice approach and landing for a heavy.

  • Nice? I fly heavies! That approach and landing is completely uncalled for and dangerous. He would have had to have ducked significantly below a PAPI, VASI, or ILS glideslope to do that and that is completely unprofessional and no doubt, against his company's SOPs. If I had a time-date stamp and a tail number, his company chief pilot would be getting a call from me.

  • This was the chief pilot and his nickname is PAPI.

  • Lol... You're probably right!

  • He is too heavy to stay on the PAPI.

  • Your weight and being able to stay on a glideslope aren't dependent on one another. At any given configuration, airspeed, and weight, a specific throttle setting will be required during any phase of flight. If he's heavy then he'll be using a higher throttle setting to maintain glideslope.

In the case of the plane I fly, if we're not using autothrottles, on a 3° glideslope, we divide our gross weight by 100, and make the fuel flow for each engine equal that number. It always works for us!

  • Mr PAPI is too heavy for the PAPI. Just kidding, but thanks for your effort.

  • Oh sorry, I thought you were serious about him being too heavy! Lol..

  • amazing :-))

  • Interesting, considering a 747 can overturn a car 100 metres away with its engines on full throttle. (Of course though, when a plane lands it puts its engines into reverse).

  • When do you mean? Reverse is used generally a few seconds after touch down lol. Idle as soon as they get erally close. :)

  • That's what I said. :P

  • HAha sorry man last night i was a little out of it man!! hahah now i see it XD haha beautiful video though :)

  • The real fun starts whenever they aim for the threshold and decide to do a waveoff.

  • What a stupid location for a beach? They should at least keep that one small area closed.

  • @jephsteph He-He It is not a 'Real" beach for sunbathing! It is a beach for plane"Spotters"! Look how narrow it is! Still only place you can get a tan and see the undercarridge of a 747!

  • Don't forget about the cold beers... ;-)

I'll be there in January and will probably be at Sunset Bar most of the time spotting and drinking!

  • why??? It would ruin all the fun

  • i expirince jfk they look like they land on the houses

  • muito loko

  • if you don t like that beach then don t go there!!!its simple!

  • Horrible place for a beach, and every video from there seems to have a lot of wind noise.

  • HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!

Really? Wind at a beach? Being next to an open body of water? Who would have guessed!

  • who cares where its at thats not the point nice video

  • LoLy schit, that beach is funny :D

  • Perhaps one of the greatest vids on youtube of St. Maarten. 5*

  • your kidding right . ? that sucked. !! there dozens better- -ah I figured....your a 737 driver huh,?...poor kid-

  • st martin is an island in guadeloupe, quite near to st maarten, but not the same place, kool video =)

    looks nice there

  • It is the same island; Sint Maarten is Dutch and Saint Martin is French.

Besides that, St Martin is no longer in Gaudeloupe.

  • meh, u mite be right , but there are 2 islands with similar names in that region, one of them is netherlands antilles property, and another is governed by guadeloup. the locals consider themselves antillian though.

  • It really is the same island. The south part is Dutch and the north part is French.

The French part used to be in the Guadeloupe, but a couple of years ago it became independent of the Gaudeloupe and became a separate over-sea territory of France.

  • truc de ouf !!!

  • truc truc

  • my name is in the name of this video! (martin)

  • thats very nice martin. my name is in the video too (landing)

  • oh crap...my name isn't in the video! fuck! I guess I'm a big loser now...

  • You might just be the luckiest guy alive!

  • martin is an awful name

  • Thanks :D:D

  • you mean bread truck, dont you?
