Thanks, Kurt, and Pugsknowpro. If you didn't point this out, I wouldn't have known about it (my game store's not too sharp on Savage Worlds). I love the Pulp GM's Toolkit and the Gear kit.
I suppose that it's dead and buried or something, but since you mention it, why not make a ritic of White Wolf's 'Trinity' 'Aberrant and 'Adventure!' games?
Great reviews citizen. Commendation point to Gaming Geeks! However, your lack of attention to the new release of Paranoia is very suspicious behaviour. Remember Paranoia is fun. The computer says so. Trust the Computer! Review Paranoia. Failure to do so promptly is treason and subject to summary execution. Have a good daycycle citizen.
Hey Kurt, you should start doing a series on good game mastering, good roleplaying, tips, etc. I'd like to see more of Game Geeks besides the reviews ('cause I've been finding myself more and more anxious to watch each episode every week).
@kingofsoulsfrombm if you're new to GMing, i recommend getting the Dungeon Masters Guide 2 for the 4th edition of D&D, it is the best resource on Game Mastering you can find, even if you dont play D&D. It is really really incredible, a labor of love.
I must admit that I am less finding a "one game to rule them all" than I am in coming up with a setting first and finding an appropriate rules set afterwards; just feels more organic that way/
I actually had the chance to ask Shane Hensley (sp?) that very question about the pulp toolkits at Origins this year. He joked something like, "If I still have any money left."
From my understanding, they will publish fantasy (done), then supers, then sci-fi, then either pulp or horror. They haven't given specific dates as yet.
One thing you forgot to mention was the toolkits were pre-Explorer's Edition, so you may need to adjust some stats. That said, I have the pulp toolkits (my favorite genre) and really find them useful. I prefer toolkits over established setting, mainly because I just like the fun of coming up with my own settings.
My pulp toolkit dates to about a year before Explorer's Edition came out. It uses the older, slightly different original SW rules. The biggest change is in attacks for NPCs: They roll one die and add a fixed modifier, whereas in the Explorer's Edition rules, you roll two dice for many attacks. Most changes are cosmetic, though.
Then again, maybe they updated the toolkits since I downloaded mine?
are there any steampunk toolkits?

I'm inclined to agree... reviews are fine... but I'd like to hear more about Kurt's general gaming thoughts sometimes.

Now that is a good suggestion. I personally agree on that. Maybe if we get enough people to reply to theBeorn's post here, they might just do that.

@theBeorn i agree! I just started GMing and I would love some tips and tricks for GMing.

Sounds like a good idea to build a decent Farscape RPG.

I pretty much agree with Walt776. The Pulp and Horror Toolkits are excellent as well. BTW, check out Savage Worlds Weird War II. It rocks on toast.
