This is a T.A.S.(tool assisted speedrun). They use programs and manipulation to do this stuff. It's not like a guy picked up a control and just ran through this game.

In Super Castlevania 4, you can whip in eight directions and the jumping is less sensitive. Play SC4 for thirty minutes, then play the original NES game. You'll know the difference.

yeah, this is defnitely sped up in some way, but I have the game on both the NES and on emulator and it's identical.

It might also be because it's the NTSC version. NTSC(Usa/JPN) versions of older games run faster than their PAL(Europe)-cousins, because developers did sloppy conversions and simply slowed down the games to adapt the games to fit the PAL codec.

yo bro, the only way to beat frankenstein real easy is to stand on the ledge right in front of him and keep throwing holy water at him....basically once you get holy water in the medusa stage you should keep it for the rest of the game and you can beat all the bosses. Also because beating the grim reaper without holy water is absolutely hellacious and should be attempted for no reason.

I generally only used holy water on Medusa, Frankenstein's monster, and occassionally the two mummies, But never on Grim, of course I never thought of it, I use triple shot boomeranges for him and Dracula

To beat Death just stand on the second ledge to the right and before he comes out throw holy water where he stands and when he comes out just keep jumping and throwing it at him. I was surprised at how easy it was, THE SCYTHES NEVER EVEN CAME OUT!!!! You can only get holy water at the beginning of the stage, so try not to die. Now I can't beat Dracula, but I at least got up to the second form.

Also, if you die and lose the Water before the Reaper, you can use the Boomerang with Triple Shot as well. That's how I did it. The triple shot can be grabbed from the Medusa heads and the Knights before the battle. The Boomerang takes out most of the sycthes. But the Water is still the best way to do it.

NOTE TO ALL CASTLEVANIA PLAYERS: holy water is ESSENTIAL in boss fights!!!! it stuns bosses, so you can hit them while they do nothing for like 5 seconds!!!

This game is a classic, the music is incredible for the late 80s, and NES games in general, plus it is a fun game. I hope younger generations of gamers will appreciate this antique for the awesome game it is.

this doesnt apply to the stopwatch though.

That's the trick to that level. It's hard because the holy water drops on like the second screen and you have to make it all the way to Death without accidentally picking up another dumb weapon. If you make it to him with the holy water he doesn't even movie.
