It's all done for commercial reasons. They always have some theme going. After Christmas, it's Valentine's Day, then Easter, then Fourth of July (here in the USA), then Back To School, then Halloween, then Thanksgiving (another local holiday), and then Christmas again.
Nah man, easter and halloween are proper irish holdiys , halloween = samhain, a festival of dead spirits and d end of d year, and easter is the beggining of the year, and of life etc. its a shame america just sells everything out.
the reason stores don't do much for that holiday because during halloween they sell things like decorations *please excuse my spelling* and candy, christmas decorations and presants, thanksgiving eh not much to sell there lol
for this hallowmas i was a fat ass all i did was put 15 pounds of fat in my shirt it look like i was a porn satr with my boobs hiting the ground but it was my pillows????>?>
I completely agree with you. I love Halloween but before it's even started there's bloody Christmas shite. It really gets on my wick. By Christmas I'm usually bored out of my mind with the christmassy stuff. I might send people a Halloween card for Christmas this year.
Shops are just trying to rip us off though. We all know Christmas bargains are to be had the week after, and we all have somewhere to stuff them until next year!
Went to the mall yesterday on nov 1 and all the christmas stuff and santa clause where already set up. I wonder if they where actually up before halloween was over.
Christoween and Hallomas! hehe....i imagine in most countries the day of trick-or-treats is only the 31st. of October but here in mexico, the kids prolong the treatin' November 1st and 2nd!5*****!
Where I work, they have had Christmas decorations for sale since the beginning of October. Ridiculous. Customers don't buy it, nobody wants to see it, it's poor judgement by upper-management.
i agree mokong! Ive been noticing the last couple of years. I mean like mid November. they always skip thanksgiving. they start way too soon. Happy Halloween Everyone!!!!
Um! Please forgive me for my rudeness. *lol* But what is with the Alphalfa hair? I keep seeing the back of your hair sticking up and it's so hypnotic. Btw I totally agree with you. Halloween & Christmas should be done seperately. O_o
We'll end up having Santa Claus getting into fights with Vampires and Werewolves if wer're not careful lol. November for decorations yes, but not Oct.
On the topic of bonfires, here in the UK where we have Bonfire night, there are usually designated areas for them. Of course people have their own in gardens, which are usually safe, and there are some in any field, which aren't so safe, but not too many of the latter. Having areas put aside for them is a good idea.
I worked in retail last Christmas, and this year at least in America, it is going to be a lot worse. I know Black Friday will start at like 11pm on Thanksgiving.
They actually are in the right frame of mind this year however. The economy being what it is people need time to shop. Lay-a-way is the way to go this year from my understanding.
Nice job on the video, you made some good points. I was at Wal-Mart the other day, but not for long, so I didn't notice if they had the Christmas stuff out. They had the Halloween stuff though. Today at school though I was at the university library and noticed they were already putting up a Christmas tree display near the stairs. Thankfully though they just put some fall (autumn) decorations on it. Christmas stuff in November is cool, but not in October.
Hell, at the stores around me, there is more Christmas stuff than Halloween. It just doesnt feel right. I mean when I see Christmas stuff in late Nov. Early Dec, I know its Chirstmas time. Now, it just feels weird.
Oh, and I want an Xbox 360 pro with Gears of War 2.
i totally agree with you... same thing in the united states, christmas & halloween stuff has been all over stores since 2 weeks ago. side by side. queer feelings.
And I share the exact same bonfire memories as you! There used be a field opposite where I live [that's now turned into an estate, so what else is new?] where for weeks and weeks we'd gather a bonfire - I wish there could be at least *one* official bonfire somewhere around. I remember when Wford had LOADS and you could drive around and visit them all!!
[Random sniggering @ City Center being thought of as a 'mall' though] XD
Maybe next year the council will try it, not much "bad" stuff happened this year it seems in Waterford, we didn't even have too many trick or treaters this year... think only 5 times i had to answer the door
Yes but, in the end its all so lovely!! Christmas is so peaceful and the cinnamon apple smells are the best :D Pines good too lol. thanks for commenting back franklin!
Christmas stuff should be up as soon as possible because its pretty and to prevent shopping accident with holiday rush. Maybe my sence of time is just too fast.
hallowmas realy existed it was the old name for all hallows day or all saints day

You have a point. Nightmare before christmas was good in my opinion, but, Tim Burton should never touch children movie themes ever again.

The end of that video lasted about 2 minutes or so.
Start with the Christmas stuff in late November, early December.
That way Halloween is well out of the way.
And let it snow for gods sake!
I want snow!
Not hail, SNOW!

I love your videos. You crack me up!
I agree completely on the starting of Christmas adverts as soon as its October. Iv even seen a Christmas tv special already. Flustering!
Your looked adorably tired in this video. As to the time, the beginning of November is a good time to start, I think.
Enough rambling. Time to go play OOT.
Happy Halloween!
