I was so lucky to have a Father who sang just like Sinatra. He even had the same blue eyes. His voice echoed in my childhood day after glorious day. My father past away 3 years ago. My Mom has been grieving ever since, This Christmas, I bought my Mom a Sirius sattelite radio for and she instantly loved channel 71. Within 2 weeks she finally felt Dad's prescence in her home. The delicious irony of this song (and many others written by him) is that Cole Porter had a curious penchant for trashy, 'pick-up', boy whores who were the real inspiration for most of what he penned ("Love for Sale", "I Get a Kick out of You", etc.). Note the obvious, lyrical absence of personal pronouns in many of the songs. Mainstream musicals and polite, God-fearing,straight society have fox-trotted through these songs for years, apparently in smiling ignorance of their genesis. I love it!

In my opinion this is one of the finest tracks of all time. The arrangement by Nelson Riddle, the trombone solo, Sinatra's impeccable timing and ad libs all go together so well I would just like to know what Cole Porter would have thought of this particular version.
