  • Yansan no video o arigatoo gozaimasu.

  • arigatoo is actually spelled "arigatou." When two o's are side by side, the second o is spelled as a "u," however, the u is silent, so you pronounce it as one long o sound.

It's important to spell it right because if you look these words up in an online dictionary (ex. Denshi Jisho) you'll get no results from words like "arigatoo."

There's some exceptions to the double o rule, but the exceptions are rare.

  • Sorry but you are not correct. Romaji is not translated letter for letter.

  • What I mean is I use "u" for online dictionaries because dictionaries aren't smart enough to distinguish the second English "o" as a "u," so if you type arigatoo it will think you're typing ありがおとお. You'll come up with a dead search. You'll have to type "arigatou" to make it work.

Anyways, yea Romaji is silly. I still recommend translating the second "o" as "u" to avoid English to Japanese dictionary confusion. Romaji is controversial though, so I understand what you mean.

  • A, RelVleDy, wakarimashita. Arigatou gozaimasu. Ki o tsukete.
