    u make he blinking!!!!!!!

  • it's really ... fast ;) 4/5

  • that looks to human the movie one is way better

  • His mouth looks very good in this one--Why did Bay decide to change to the horror we see in the film?

  • you a retard, he looks WAYYYYYYY better than he used to. In the movie all the robots have way better design.

  • I think that is based on your point of veiw. I liked the old designs, the new ones are really awesome as well. I like the change of pace.

  • Yeah, except that they don't look like robots, they don't look like they're from the planet Cybertron, they look endoskeletal when the script constantly refers to them as being EXOskeletal, the have faces that look like mechanical spiders, and their transformations don't make the slightest bit of sense.

    Yep. Wayyyyyyy better though.

  • hey didnt bumblebee put on some sort of mask that looks like the original version after he was captured cause maybe they just had those masks off the whole time

  • That mask looked nothing like him in the slightest. Prime did that, and he should have kept that mask on through the whole movie. It'd certainly be a corner that the animators would be allowed to cut. :P

  • If he kept that mask through the whole movie then you wouldn't be able to see any emotion/feelings through optimus.

  • Any and every animator should be able to express feeling and emotion through a character's eyes alone.

  • Yeah but not for optimus, since theres alot of human in him. Its like if you see a person talikng with a scarf over his mouth, you wont be able to see as much expression from that person.

  • Prime never had lips before this movie and he was still able to emote. Even Johnny 5 needed nothing but eyebrows, irises, and body language to express what he wanted to. :P Why not have the same thing for Prime?

  • Yeah i agree with you( and not to mention he looks way better with a mask on), but im just saying it shows More than if he had a mouth plate on. Its like Bonecrusher and Blackout. Both of those decepticons dont have mouths in the movie because they didnt need to talk at all, and they were only brief characters in the movie.

In the behind the scenes, michael Bay mentions when they added more moving parts to the robots emotions, it almost looked like they had a soul in them.

  • Bonecrusher & Blackout DID need to talk. In the TF universe, even the villains are supposed to get some sort of decent amount of screentime & character exposition.

Michael Bay doesn't know how to present souls on the screen. All of the millions of moving parts were just there to distract the viewer from how hollow the movie is. How many moving parts did John Lasseter need to show that a couple of CGI desk lamps have souls?

  • well actually every single piece actually goes somewhere from vehicle to robot and vice versa. Its just that theres so many moving pieces.

Umm the TF universe is different to a 2 and a half hour long movie. ITs like the first six episodes of the G1 cartoon, you still didnt really know most of the characters that well because they would've needed more screen time.

  • How do you know that every piece goes somewhere? Never in the movie do you see a single TF have the same transformation sequence twice (if you're fast enough to catch it, since too many of them don't even last longer than 5 frames of film).

The TF universe is not different; this movie needed to BELONG to that universe, no matter what the incarnation. If they used more simplistic and less expensive designs, they could have focused on giving the TFs some real character like they were supposed to.

  • I know that every piece goes some because, if u had the dvd, in the behind the scenes, the animatrs tell you that "every piece has to go somewhere, so theres no cheating going on". Everything complies with the laws of physics.

  • They SAY there's no cheating going on, but I guarantee you, there is no way that Frenzy's severed head could possibly fit into something the size of a cell phone without cheating.

Barely ANYTHING complies with the laws of physics. Look at that shot of Ironhide propelling himself by firing his cannons into the ground. If they were strong enough to fly a robot that heavy in the air, there's no way he could ever fire them and continue standing erect. This movie was about nothing but flash.

  • Yes it does belong to the TF universe, but now its live action, and it couldnt have been done better by any other movie director.

About the "they could've focused on giving the TFs some real character like they were supposed to.". Well the reason for that is because paramount wouldnt give Bay enough money to give more screen time for the robots, since its quite expensive just to do a little minute of CGI.

  • Oh, there are all TOO MANY directors who could have done better than Bay on this.

"its quite expensive just to do a little minute of CGI."

And THAT'S why they needed to tone it down a notch! Make things easier on the computer (or better yet, invest more in animatronics & puppets to further increase their believability), and don't waste all of the budget on a human cast that was too big who nobody even cared about.

  • they're not really robots. They're more of an organic mechanical beings, who have feelings and what not. Yeah, their transformations look like they don't make sense but hey; they're advanced robotic alien beings from another planet. Their technology is beyond our understanding.

I like the new faces because the ones in G1 looked too human and not mechanical enough.

  • They're supposed to be ROBOTS in disguise. :S Part of the fun of the Transformers is seeing what goes where to turn into whatever it's turning into. They're making things too complicated when a real robot wants to do whatever it's doing as simplistically as possible.

If their technology is beyond our understanding, why would it be so hard to believe that they could have more humanoid (but still mechanized) faces instead of arachnoid faces?

  • well.. they are robots in disguise; hence that they've got the advanced technology to blend in with our would by transforming into vehicles.

And the thing about the moving parts... well its a live action movie, not a freaken cartoon. Since they are advanced beings, of course the transformation is going to look impossible.

When i mean by technology is beyond our understanding, i mean their transformations and how they can change from their cybertronian form to a more earth friendly form.

  • But WHY does the transformation have to look impossible? Of course it's going to be more complicated than their toy counterparts, but they're supposed to be robots with structural integrity, not a mechanized Sandman. What does it being a live action movie and not a cartoon have to do with it? Shouldn't that give it MORE of a reason to go with something much more practical than what's presented?

  • It looks impossible because every single piece of the vehicle basically turns into something. Eg. In the live action movie- The robot arm is formed by transforming the bonnet, part of the engine and one of the fenders of the vehicle. In the TF Cartoons, the arm wouldnt be formed by anything because its just tucked in somewhere in the vehicle.

  • Exactly. Simplistic and more mechanically correct. Alien technology can be more advanced than ours, but there needs to be SOME sort of line to be drawn if it is intended to look recognizable (and therefore relatable) to us.

  • good job. their is another vid like this somewhere on youtube where someone did the same thing but the dialogue was from the matrix(i dont know which one) and the used megatrons head. i think it's called megatron speaks

  • yes

  • does optimus prime and the other transformers actually talk in the film?

  • yeah a lot. Optimus prime talks a heck of a lot, the others don't speak to much. You also get to hear megatron.

  • Not only that. Starscream just says "The humans got it", when Megatron asked him for the cube. THat´s the only thing we hear from him.

  • he also says "I live to serve you, Lord Megatron!"

  • watch the movie and you'll find out.

  • Nobody should EVER have to ask "Do the Transformers actually talk?" when asking about a Transformers show/movie. <:(

  • This is not what the movie will be like. Michael Bay already made a statement regarding this clip. It is not affiliated with the movie. This clip was made by someone, using a clip from the new trailer and Optimus's voice from the old cartton. The movie will be much better!

  • What are you talking about Samurai? Michael Bay made a statement about this clip? What are you smoking?

This clip has nothing to do with Bay and he has probably never even seen it. And it is labeled quite plainly in the description to be fake, and the "someone" who made it would be...me.

No idea what you're trying to do here.

  • My bad. A clip was reported on youtube where Ptimus Prime had "Lips" in the new movie and fan were VERY disappointed. The clip was mistaken for a real clip. Due to the amount of negative complaints, Michael Bay did issue a statement. Thought this was that clip. My apologies...

  • he's trying to stop people from taking this as a legitimate clip. It's a fact that most users of youtube don't even READ the little "description" field before the clip starts playing. Just cut the guy some slack--he was right about Bay trying to get rid of clips showing Optimus "speaking" on the internet.

  • That was really good

  • in the movie he will have that same voice!

  • But changing it a litte bit

  • I like it! Pretty cool! :)
