  • I guess I never thought anyone would be interested in how I made these camera systems. I would have made some "how I did it" videos. It all is really just cobbled together from junk parts and me tinkering, except for the cameras, which I had to buy. But those weren't expensive.

  • Could you please put a link in your description as to where these can be bought? Thanks

Don't know if this thing lets you post links; I know it won't here. I didn't use a kit for this or the underwater cam. I hacked together the parts and bought the cameras from supercircuits-dot-com. The model of the camera in the birdhouse is the PC6EX4. I'm not good with wood, so the birdhouse I bought. The capture/recording software is all free Linux-based. The computer doing the work is cobbled together from junk parts and runs Linux.

  • Great looking Nest Box. Clear & Clean signal. What type of set up/Camera are you using? Great vids btw.

It's a home-built camera system started in 1999 based on Linux. All cameras came from supercircuits (can't post links in comments!), this one specifically is their PC6EX4.

I cut a hole in the top of the birdhouse, mounted the camera in a 3-inch PVC cap, and bolted that over the hole in roof. Helps keep camera out of bird's way. I have more video of critters in the birdhouse, which I'm compiling to post soon.
