I still play Hitman: Contracts/Blood Money alot. Love the games, grown up with them. Been waitting for this game so long, I got a Map Editor mod for it, which I used on Blood Money.
wth it is 95% splinter cellish gameplay, the splinter cell has way better gameplay. ( sorry not hurting hitman fans). hitman series are getting worse and worse
and you know all this from a 15 minute demo because thats all they have released so far and the game is no where near complete we have to wait until the end of this year just for the demo

You really can't show a decent gameplay for hitman. One way or another everyone has their own style and seeing someone else play in an unimpressive way only brings down the games appeal. I know ill be getting it simply cause blood money made sure of it. They better not let me down.
You guys can't give up on Absolution without taking in account that YOU decide how the game goes. That 16 minute vid was just one of the many ways to get pass the level. The devs didn't do it the Silent Assassin way because it's up to us the players to figure out on our own how to get the SA rating, which I know people will post SA vids on youtube. I'm a loyal fan who's waited for 6 years for the game, and I don't care how it's like other games I'm still buying it. I've waited long enough.

What about this video makes this game seem not badass? So the graphics got better and 47 has a wider range of capabilities...GOD FORBID THEY SHOULD EXPAND A CHARACTER FOR A SEQUEL! This clip barely shows anything except that they've further developed the franchise.
The miniature sandbox--assassin--based Hitman series was unique, you could not really compare it to any other game, in my opinion--and them sticking to that formula alone has ensured that I would always play the new sequels. Seeing as now, I'm instantly thinking that this looks like a typical action, Splinter Cell game when viewing this video means I will be now treating Absolution as an entirely new series, I may or may not decide to play it. An point A to point B game isn't really Hitman.
I def, wanna buy the entire Hitman Collection for PC now, I'm pumped for old times but I fear Windows 7 will wreck that dream. Can't wait for this & PS3.!

If it were me giving out Hitman gameplay video? I'd put in a generic public place setting with lots of people (maybe they speak a foreign language), a strangling scene (in the dark), a hot chick (nearly nude or not) scene, and then a sniping scene (a view through the scope). I've always imagined Agent 47 as kind of like Michael Myers without the mask or jumpsuit. In fact, if you use the kitchen knife as your main weapon when your playing the game, there isn't much of a difference.

@afsan23 Developers making a step forward is different from changing the original ideas and strategy of a SERIES in one fell swoop. Im not talking about graphics, or any shit like that. Take a close look at the clip here at about 1:02. In every single Hitman game I have played (which is them all) The aim is to not be fucking seen! The whole game is around you being anonymous. Your supposed to kill any fucking witnesses, so nobody can identify your face.

I believe that is what hitman fans are complaining about. People should watch some dev blogs where they explain just that and how this game will have that availability even more. @sebbecht I agree about the choice to go all guns blazing but the back end of the series, especially blood money I felt the object of the game was definitely more focused on trying to stay anonymous. I admit I have been eagerly awaiting this release for years, but I would happily wait another 7 years if the end product was another quality hitman game where the same general formula from past games applied :) Im still looking forward to the release and I hope it is an excellent addition to Hitman

tbh, i may not have followed it all properly. and i know 47 didn't die in blood money because you killed everyone on the map. unless there is a storyline of some sort where he has to kill someone, and he didn't do it in blood money, then this should be released as a whole new game, not a new hitman.
it may be different than the originals but i am still gonna be excited to get it. Now what they should do is release the first four games in HD for PS3 and Xbox.

Yeah I agree. No Jesper Kyd = A big letdown(A large part of Hitman's success is due to Kyd's brilliant soundtrack). No David Bateson = EPIC FAIL(I don't think any other person can be as good as he was).

It's not about buying the game to listen to the soundtrack, it's about the soundtrack enhancing the game. It added a ton of atmosphere and made the game more enjoyable -- which is a part of what made the 'Hitman' series successful.
@Satisfaktion4u So little do I know? I've played all Hitman games and still remember buying Hitman Codename 47 when I was twelve; a little over eleven years ago. The soundtrack didn't make the game a success, it was the gameplay.

@macadom222 It's because he was part of the original cast, that's why. People do not like seeing someone get replaced, whether it's in a video game, T.V. show, movie, etc... especially if a person was apart of the audience since the beginning. Hypothetically, lets say Boris Salchow was the original composer for the Hitman series and he was being replaced by Jesper Kyd, people would be throwing hissy fits too.
Good point but it isn't because people see the name of "Peter Kyed" instead of "Jesper Kyd", it's because, as hitman fans(you're probably one too), we all know that Kyd's soundtrack had so much life in it(intro track of hitman 2, for eg.) that it enhanced the game play a lot more.
But I'm not gonna complain over Kyd being out. The game's not yet out and it's too early to comment on the new composer's work. Hope the soundtrack is just as good as the previous ones.
But if you're arguing Kyd had no role in Hitman's success, then you haven't really played or enjoyed any of the hitman games. I didn't think much of the first game's soundtrack but ever since the second one released, I've fell in love with his compositions. His soundtracks like Access the Animus(Assassin's Creed) gave so much of life to the game.
@artourg i have no idea where you got the "no more map" thing. there is no heavy metal music for the trailer and just because it shows a man doing the mission in aggressive way doesn't mean it will only be that. in hitman blood money you could always go in and kill everyone and even in blood money trailers it show that mr 47 wont be silent, and then we got the game and it seems you have your freedom. same thing in this game just like the others. plus there might be multiplayer

I've always imagined Agent 47 as kind of like Michael Myers without the mask or jumpsuit. In fact, if you use the kitchen knife as your main weapon when your playing the game, there isn't much of a difference.

I love how people are calling it a "bad game" and whatnot, without there even being a proper review out there, nor having played the game themselves.
Crying over the VO changes - just because 1 person was great, doesn't mean another can't be great too. Are you really that attached a someones voice in a game?
Yes, I have my doubts too, but I'm going to look at more then 15 minutes of gameplay footage of a level that even IO says is unusually "scripted" compared to the rest of the levels

@afsan23 Developers making a step forward is different from changing the original ideas and strategy of a SERIES in one fell swoop. Im not talking about graphics, or any shit like that. Take a close look at the clip here at about 1:02. In every single Hitman game I have played (which is them all) The aim is to not be fucking seen! The whole game is around you being anonymous. Your supposed to kill any fucking witnesses, so nobody can identify your face.

@boshdymate running around in crowded rooms hitting people on the head with pottery is hardly silent or sly. and grabbing someone at gun point so that about 30 police wont shoot you is also not silent. I believe that is what hitman fans are complaining about. I cant think of a single game series like hitman, and now it seems there wont be a good out for a very long time. im kind of pissed off but with the new generation of retard gamers (look at MG rising LOL) this is what i have come to expect.

@boshdymate This game has always been about having the choice to go completely silent or go boom or being in the middle. People should watch some dev blogs where they explain just that and how this game will have that availability even more. I know you arent complaining but jeesus, everybodies acting like hurt children cus its taken so long to get it done. Its done soon, be happy about it. But honestly, i hope this game hits, would be a shame to see the quality lessen.

@sebbecht I agree about the choice to go all guns blazing but the back end of the series, especially blood money I felt the object of the game was definitely more focused on trying to stay anonymous. I admit I have been eagerly awaiting this release for years, but I would happily wait another 7 years if the end product was another quality hitman game where the same general formula from past games applied :) Im still looking forward to the release and I hope it is an excellent addition to Hitman

tbh, i may not have followed it all properly. and i know 47 didn't die in blood money because you killed everyone on the map. unless there is a storyline of some sort where he has to kill someone, and he didn't do it in blood money, then this should be released as a whole new game, not a new hitman.

Has been waiting about 7 years for this to come. Just wish that IO do not disappoint the fans of the original Hitman. If it is true that many of the original gameplay and stuff from previous games are removed; than this Hitman is going to be like a new game title and the last of the Hitman series is Blood Money.

Voices aside, you can't really judge a game on an early gameplay trailer, on a game without a release date. For all anyone knows this game could be awesome, I for one am looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Yeah I agree. No Jesper Kyd = A big letdown(A large part of Hitman's success is due to Kyd's brilliant soundtrack). No David Bateson = EPIC FAIL(I don't think any other person can be as good as he was).

It's not about buying the game to listen to the soundtrack, it's about the soundtrack enhancing the game. It added a ton of atmosphere and made the game more enjoyable -- which is a part of what made the 'Hitman' series successful.

People do not like seeing someone get replaced, whether it's in a video game, T.V. show, movie, etc... especially if a person was apart of the audience since the beginning. Hypothetically, lets say Boris Salchow was the original composer for the Hitman series and he was being replaced by Jesper Kyd, people would be throwing hissy fits too.

Good point but it isn't because people see the name of "Peter Kyed" instead of "Jesper Kyd", it's because, as hitman fans(you're probably one too), we all know that Kyd's soundtrack had so much life in it(intro track of hitman 2, for eg.) that it enhanced the game play a lot more.
But I'm not gonna complain over Kyd being out. The game's not yet out and it's too early to comment on the new composer's work. Hope the soundtrack is just as good as the previous ones.

But if you're arguing Kyd had no role in Hitman's success, then you haven't really played or enjoyed any of the hitman games. I didn't think much of the first game's soundtrack but ever since the second one released, I've fell in love with his compositions. His soundtracks like Access the Animus(Assassin's Creed) gave so much of life to the game.

@artourg i have no idea where you got the "no more map" thing. there is no heavy metal music for the trailer and just because it shows a man doing the mission in aggressive way doesn't mean it will only be that. in hitman blood money you could always go in and kill everyone and even in blood money trailers it show that mr 47 wont be silent, and then we got the game and it seems you have your freedom. same thing in this game just like the others. plus there might be multiplayer
