I actually like this movie: Colin Firth is a great actor, Ben Barnes makes a good job and I love Rachel Hurd-Wood. The only thing that I don´t like about this movie is Rebecca Hall.
If I get a girl that smiles at me I am going to ask her out. People say I look like Tom Cruise when he was 24 in Top Gun. Maybe there is hope for me, plus I take this scene very seriously and have learned that when he said, "One lost moment at a time", it definitely makes me think. I am definitely kicking myself that I didn't have the balls to ask girls out at high school, I was always too shy, well ladies that is going to change, from here on after...
"One moment at a time" I like that, because I asked this hot as girl out and she gave me her number, but because I don't have a job at the moment she didn't txt me back :(
I will try again and again until I find someone genuine, people always tell me I look like Tom Cruise when he acted in the film Top Gun in 1986. Maybe there is hope for me after all.
"Make it burn always with the hardest flame", far out Colin did such an amazing job on that, also when he said, "Don't be timid, GO", great scenes from my favorite movie ever.
This scene is one of my favorite scenes from the film, I am turning 23 this year and Ben Barnes was 28, I think not sure, when he acted in this film. I realize my youth isn't going to last, I look myself in the mirror and realize I am going to be old one day, hopefully I will age gracefully and not worry about aging, my youth is only going to last for so long.
Colins Lord Henry is refreshing! A hard cynic! A reinvention of the over-the-top gay Lord Henry from other adaptions! Colins nefarious Lord Henry really makes us feel HOW he could influence Dorian to such a fatal degree.
I need to read the book...however, I think that because of a certain character's hotness, this may be one movie I will be able to bear, despite it's difference from the book. And of course, colin firth is always pretty good, however much his character may differ from the original. <3
ugh! i hate colin´s lord henry! lord henrys suppoed to be happy and idk just like careless and stuff this lord henrys all serious and quiet idk i dontlike it. gotta love ben though.
I'd have to disagree, MrsDarcyofPemberly. I think that hard cynicism is the essence of honesty in Lord Henry; he's playful but bitter. He resents his own mortality. The character of Lord Henry is often demonized or fluffed over, but there's a melancholy to his mayhem; he's acutely aware that we all age. That we all die. He's trying to communicate to Dorian the immediacy of life but Dorian isn't equipped with the life experience to seize it without destruction. What an irony of existence.
I totally agree with you, Henry is to me a character to love and embrace. To me Henry is the voice of the corrupt minds or the cynical minds, he tells the truth nobody wants to accept or tell. Even when sometimes his philosophical sentences have somehow contradictions at the end everything he says makes sense, it's weird, you've got to love Oscar Wilde.I've seen the other versions and I got bored, I think this movie can show a little bit more of what Oscar expressed in the book.I want to see it

Apart from the fact that Ben Barnes INDEED is very easy on the eyes, I have to say that Lord Henrys advice about life is very important and clever.
