Good job. The first time I heard this song was in 1984 while I was in the Air Force stationed in Alaska. They would play it Late Late night and played backwards if requested on the Air Force Radio Network (AFRN).
I can still remember the very fist time I heard this on the radio. I swear, I thought it was a joke done by the radio station - I really did. Then after hearing it a few more times and they would announce the name of the "song" I realized it was actually one of the "tunes" in the rotation. We're talking late 60s here, some radio stations actually banned it from being played.
I absolutely love this song! It's kind of creepy with a whimsical feel, which is something that is hard to make work for music. This video was by far the best representation of the lyrics, especially when the boy was rocking back and forth clutching the teddy bear. Very well done!
@CamelheadStudio Well, as long as the video is funny (and it is - you do look convincingly insane hehe) I guess it's not that important. Just wanted to let you know.
@Dragonion2010 Actually, he is singing to a girl. He's just referencing her to a dog cuz that's what he thinks of her now. I looked up the singer and that's what he said :) He was quite crazy when it happened XD
1. Jerry Samuels (who made the song) wrote it 9 years after he had been institutionalized and was not crazy at that time
2. The song was banned on several radio stations for making fun of mentally ill people; more specifically "Man going bonkers over lost dog"
3. In the last verse he says "they'll put you in the ASPCA, you mangy mutt". I don't know what country you are from, but ASPCA is The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and "mutt" is a synonym for dog
im gonna make that cind of video because that guy is really inspiring and crazy.
:D

Very funny performance! :)
However, he is actually talking/singing to a dog, not a girl (which is kinda the element of surprise in the song).

Oh, and 4. The fact that it is revealed to the listener in the last verse that he is talking to a dog is the whole point of the song!
