@Rangerjoe95 He most likely did. When the Beatles recorded this version of Revolution, John had the idea of plugging his guitar right into the mixing console. This type of sound was almost unheard of and was actually disliked, but John wanted that gritty, fuzzy sound for the new version of Revolution.

It appears to be "singing to track" which means the vocals were redone for the TV show, but they're singing to pre-recorded instruments. (You'll notice the keyboard solo in the middle of the song is exactly like the record, but there's no keyboard player there.)

Also, the final "Alright" shouted by Lennon at the end of the song is audio only -- his visual doesn't match.  So it's clearly an amalgam of some parts of the record and some parts done live on-set.

@cciemail Twin reverb 100w tube. LOUD bitches but that's not the point they are mic'ed and re-amped. The point is you have to drive an amp hard to get real distortion so an amp can be too big for some venues. Lots of players down size from amps like these to something in the 50 watt range

I looked it up, and these amps are Fender Deluxes. that's why the amps are much smaller. Compare to the Get Back video, where the amps are much bigger. Those are twin reverbs in that video.

According to interviews I've heard, the slow version was done first, and the others didn't like it as well, so they did the faster version. The fast one was released as the single, while the slow one was included on the White Album as "Revolution 1."
