  • I noticed that the ant struggled to lift the N when it dropped into place, yet had no trouble whatsoever getting it over the A

  • @Todeskaefer No he had problems moving it up until he gets it to the alphabet, like he just got a burst of energy after that.

  • The music always reminded me of the opening of A Clockwork Orange.

    Queen Mary's Funeral by Purcell.

  • The ant made the sound of N while lifting and pulling it into it's place.

  • cool-tori

  • without the video sounds like he's constipated

  • I like the ant's New Yorkish lisp.

  • i love the dirge played at the beginning

  • One of the more odder SS cartoons ever made.

  • I love the way this cartoon starts with a struggle, and then bursts into happiness when the ant achieves his goal. The ending is the part that really stuck in my memory, with the colorful animation and the ant's excited cheer. Great memories, thanks for posting!

  • I always wondered : why did he lift the N despite the fact he saw it was in the right place?

  • he's a typographer...

  • Because he didn't know it was in the right place yet. He dropped it, and tried to pick it up to keep moving, only to realise that it was in the right place.

  • I think I vaguely remember this. That ant must have been relieved that everything turned out right after spending a lot of energy in hauling that big thing!

  • I used to feel relief at the end too, like the ant. That music used to make me feel the ant's pain!

  • I like how when the ant crossed the Letter L, it looked like he was walking on air.

  • Yay Yay capital N we like you so well we'll say it again. Yay Yay capital N!

  • If that isn't a Moog synthesizer I hear, I don't know what is. Love the old-school analog synth.

  • This is my favorite "N" clip.

  • I think that voice was Daws Butler. I could be mistaken.

  • *Looks at the faded Space Scene at the start*

If that was a SAPCESHIP SURPRISE Sketch, can you please put it up. Its my most favortie Sesame Street Sketch of them all.

  • That IS is a SPACESHIP SURPRISE Sketch (That faded star scene at the beginning)

If it's one of the old versions, can you please post it up

  • I know it ain't, but it sure sounds like Hank Azaria doing that ant's voice.

  • I remember feeling sorry for the poor ant. I think it was the backround music that seemed to emphasise that he was suffering.

  • I was hoping this one would get on Youtube. I almost remembered it like I last saw it yesterday instead of 20-some years ago.

  • Worker ants are females. :)

  • Well it's time he did some work for a change! BTW, nice name! lol

  • Yea Yea capital N! LOL Yep I do remember this one.

  • Now that's where it belong. My brother keeps going on.

  • Oh, I remember this very well, so we'll say it again: "Yay! Yay! Capital N!"

  • N is apparently for "New Yawka" here; the delivery guy's "H-Oy-J-K-Ella-Menna-P" is still memorable thirty-odd years later.

  • @ISNorden OMG!You're right! (I'll admit at first I was going to take offense since I used to live in New York, but I DIDN'T & STILL don't have an accent like that) Good call!

  • I've been waiting for this one; keep the Noggin-free classics coming!

  • I don't think that's Mel. The voice does sound familiar though. Hal Smith perhaps?

  • Doesn't sound too much like Hal to me. Maybe Arnold Stang? And yet, perhaps not quite high and twangy enough for Arnold...

  • Is that Mel Blanc as the ant?

  • Hi! I don't think it's Mel Blanc, it sounds to me like Buddy Hackett or Peter Falk. Definitely one of the old-time Brooklyn or Bronx guys.
