I see what you are saying the tittle is miss leading it should say hand built 355 countach ,
but you got to give it to him that thing sounds crazy with those webbers and pipes it Has that super car sounds witch is impressive out off a big block .Any ways take it easy , and by the way that's a really nice falcon you got there. cheers Mate
Mate, this is nice work..but your title is a bit misleading - when I saw ` handmade countach engine ' I though wow, this guy machined his own block, heads etc - but its a 351 cleveland - I have a 351 cleveland in my Falcon that probably has as much hand made stuff on it, but I wouldn't claim to have handmade the engine..anyway, nice car all the same.
@kylelovesfoot yeh, but what I'm saying is he started with a factory block - hes stroked it (mine too) - where his varys from mine is intake and heads by the looks. My engine IS handbuilt. I'm not having a go, but the description sounds as if he's handbuilt (i.e. from scratch ) a lambo engine - he's hand assembled a 351, as have I. Please let me underline, though, I'm not criticising what he's done - amazing looking replica he's put together.
With the resources available to him, it is as good a job as anyone could have done. So, I mean him no disrespect by saying this: It is not 100 % body correct. The forward wheel wells ( haunches) are overly pronounced. The real thing has more elegant lines in that respect and blend in more smoothly with the other panels!
This is the most amazing display of skill and craftsmanship I have ever seen! This car is UNREAL, I can't imagine the hours and planning that went into it..What A beautiful work of art. The stance, the interior, the window fit, the wing design, The tire and wheel size, engine sound, header placement, Is all dead center PERFECT. Love to see in person ..Great job!!!!
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old DOHC Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
originalLambo is a raooling piece of good loking trash, this cars is faster, more reliable and handles better, any jackass can save money, but there something you cannot buy, to be proud of your own construction.
I think this is the same guy who finished the car in his basement, but he couldn't get it out. He had to dig a hole in the ground beside his house, tear down the basement wall and and lift the car out with a crane. I think it took him over 10 years to make to. Huge KUDOS to the man who made this. Walk tall my friend, walk tall indeed!
