  • Pakistani? Looks like a normal Dalek but drunk...

  • HILARIOUS

  • Comment removed

  • Never really liked Spikes comedy. I don't subscribe to the 'he's a genius' they say that about a lot of comediennes and its a trite overblown. This is funny though, taken as nonsense. I bet Spike likened a Daleks voice to the way Asians spoke English back then hence doing this skit. Thats all. Or he simply thought: image a Pakistani Dalek'.

  • What has the Daek got his head?

  • @MultiBelle22 I think it's a wet towel or cloth. Apparently, it was suppose to disable or dis-orientate the Dalek.

  • I'm actually kinda glad he exterminates the dog cos it's creepy looking!

  • i saw one spike milligan sketch which involved him in front of two mirrors and singing a weird song while pulling funny facial expressions. can anyone tell me what episode that was?

  • I want Spike and Peter Sellers back!!!

  • "Put him in the curry", just brilliant!!

  • Put it all in the curry!

  • Was this really 1975? Christ I feel old. I remember watching this. It 's just as funny now as then

  • I never knew there were pakistani Darleks I only thought there were only British Darleks lol

  • The world is a much worse place without Spike!!

  • That's Gold! Long live funny stuff like this Spike Milligan Daleks sketch, really Pakistani Daleks? and this was on The Political Carnival which is nice to know as had only seen a brief bit of this on a Doctor Who Documentary Special..put them in the curry indeed

  • Put them all in the curry.

  • Long live political incorrectness !

  • @bermudarailway

Too right, all the best comedy is totally un PC.

  • This is totally racist. Excellent.

  • It might be funny but it's very racist. Milligan did other racist things. I remember him playing a blacked up character in a comedy called "Curry and chips"

BTW This dalek appears to be wearing a turban so it's a Sikh dalek not a Pakistani one.

  • @cwocwoc LIKE MOST PEOPLE OF HIS GENERATION--WHO MADE BRITAIN GREAT, HE DIDN'T GIVE A RATS ARSE ABOUT THE GUTLESS COCK SUCKING ARSE LICKING CRAWLING CREEPS OF THIS GENERATION, WHO MAKE URIAH HEEP SOUND LIKE HITLER AT A NEUREMBERG RALLY.

  • Put them in the curry!

  • 0.40 Sounds like Jimmy Savile.

  • put them in the curry!!

  • one of the single most hilarious sketches ever.

  • @eyebrowman1

ooh, it's fighting for 1st place with this, I reckon:

    .youtube.com/watch?v=YyPOb-cRv1I

I know it doesn't have the same reputation but if you go and see Mr. Thresher for a bit beforehand this might just be one of the funniest things you ever see as well:

    .youtube.com/watch?v=Ga9coDIuARc&feature=related

  • Hold on - this one:

    .youtube.com/watch?v=h8ornh59lFU&feature=related

  • LOL why on Earth would a Dalek come from Pakistan and want to cook curry?

  • This was funny because it made no sense at all and this is coming from an Asian. Forget about being PC or incorrect, comedy is best when you haven't got a god damn clue what they're talking about. I was pmsl at this.

  • Uh......

  • 63 people ended up in the curry

  • put her in the curry!!

    loll!!!!

  • Spike Milligan, Peter Sellers, We miss you!!!!!

  • @mrfriendlyguy There was a lot of nonsense in the seventies about immigrants "invading" and this may be Spike's take on this sort of thinking.

It could also be a pun on Dalit (the lowest Indian caste).

Spike was born in India and saw how daft the caste system was from first hand. Pakistan may be a Muslim nation but in small villages caste issues are still a problem and certainly were in the 70's.

Asian accents have an intonation which to the untrained ear could sound Dalekish. Bonkers Genius.

  • Spike Milligan was a true comedic genius

  • HILARIOUS!

  • Put him in the Curry!

  • I'm Pakistani (not lying at all) and I'm Britsh since I've been born and raised in Britain, but I still love this!!! and I love Spike who created an amazing Children's poem. This has nothing to do with race or religion, it's just comedy

  • @GlitchProHD If there was a war between Pakistan and the UK what side would you fight on?

  • @GlitchProHD

Well you will know the Sikhs are from India NOT Pakistan then !

  • @cwocwoc Sorry, I can't quite remember what my original comment was (my memory isn't great). What did I say about Sikhs?

  • @cwocwoc who cares if were pakistani middle eastren indian hindu muslim sikhd were all considered pakis to the white people anyways.

  • @TheAAbck who cares if we are irish, christian, catholic, jewish we are all considered racist to you anyways

  • @geobruf123 i dont consider them racist

  • Put it in the curry!! The pakistani catch phrase, if you own a takeaway.

  • @rohan212121 Ahhh... It finally makes a bit more sense. I sat through that going... "er, what?" at first. Didn't really seem racist in any way, just so surreal and free-associative that it wasn't even funny. A little bit of grounding does it good. :)

  • Why is this labelled Pakistani Daleks.? Because they eat curry or something? This skit is funny but its about Daleks.

  • Comment removed

  • ahh the old days, where people were actually ALOUD to have a JOKE about cultures and people WERE NOT offended! down with the human rights act, what a load of shite. We are all humans, most of us can take a joke, and this is classic old school british comedy. ( By the way, before people call me the big R word, i have arabic roots myself, as well as italian and british so poo off)

  • It,s all about race and bullshit religeon to you people.Spike,s a fukin legend.FUCK OFF.

  • LMAO !! Long live political incorrectness !

  • The Irish-Anglo stuff came from when Spike was being de-mobbed - there had been changes in army regulations regarding soldiers of Irish descent - so Spike went the Irish Embassy and asked if he could take Irish citizenship, and the person behind the counter said, 'Oh, Jaysis, yes, we're awfully short of people...'

For Christ's sake read all of Spike's war diaries, I read them in laughter and tears - so will you.

  • GENIUS!

  • This STILL makes me chuckle like a chuckle brother. x

  • Where have all the great comedians gone like Spike Milligan? Even at the end he was cracking jokes. On his gravestone it's says "I told you I was ill"

  • I actually ended up rolling around on the floor when I first saw this!

I recommend this to everyone who wants a big laugh

  • Spike was a gorram genius.

  • The first time I saw this I actually wet my pants laughing........even though I didnt get the Pakistani elements of the gag. I think that big dalek was from "Genesis of the Daleks"........it was the right time and the right paint job.

  • @stegatops1 when this was made, there were jokes and stories about people in Pakistan who put anything in curry, and jokes about people in pakistan were told in the UK, and ht e whole "Extermination" thing, that is from normal Daleks

  • Am I missing something here? Just because they're making a curry doesn't automatically mean they're Pakistani. I'm not and I eat curry, I have friends of several nationalities who eat curry... very odd.

  • Is the British/Pakistani racial divide similar to the White American/Black American divide?

  • @tekbarrier

And the racial divide is similar, yes, though there are a lot of other factors involved and it's not quite as (forgive the pun) "black and white" as the situation in America.

  • @tekbarrier nah, we didn't enslave the Pakistanis for 200 years.

  • @tekbarrier Sort of, but we never ever EVER gave Pakistanis the treatment the poor blacks got from white America. Quite the contrary. Over the years Pakistanis have done a million times better for themselves than they would have "Back home" as they refer to Pakistan.

Yet many British born pakistanis whine that they DID get such treatment - and give no evidence of it, either, as a reason why they are rabid jihadists, living in comfort in middle class homes in Britain.

  • I'm American and just learned what Daleks are a few hours ago. A couple questions:

-How are we supposed to know the Daleks are Pakistani?

-what's with the "put him in the curry" joke? (I thought he was saying put him in the cubby at first)

  • @tekbarrier When this was made, people used to call anyone who wore a turban a "tea towel head", hence the white towel on the Dalek's dome. The "put him in the curry" comes from the joke about anyone from the middle east puts cats and stuff in their curry, since it is typically a middle east dish.

Nice to see some intelligent comments around though :)

  • A true genius and sorely missed.

  • Aaaah, so THAT's what Da-leks call their wives and girlfriends, Da-lings. :D

  • The man was a genius and my hero!

  • Spikes father was Irish and an officer in the British Army. His mother was English. Spike became an Irish citizen in 1962 but spent most of his working life in the British Army.

  • I laughed like till my sides ached when first shown. Loved the Q series.

  • PUT 60 DISLIKERS IN THE CURRY!

  • @ThePathofenlightment

    Brillant!

  • I think that's the actress that was in "Father Ted"

"will you have a nice cup of tea father?"

  • @TheDarmardar You're thinking of Mrs. Doyle, played by Pauline McLynn. I don't think it was her, because she was smaller and would have been aged approx 13 when this was filmed in 1975!

Ah go on go on go on go on.

  • So funny. My 12 year old girl makes Mummy and Daddy Daleks (out of Lego) with baby Daleks. Mother keeps exterminating the children when they play up. Daddy chastises Mummy for that and they exterminate each other. She will love this!!

  • It is a shame that Dr Who is not as funny as this. Put the scriptwriter in the curry!

  • 60 people didn't like this. 60 wankers who've had the gene responsible for humour removed. Exterminate them! Put them all in the curry!

  • Probably the only time Doctor Who ever crossed paths with The Goons.

  • Try getting away with this nowadays.

The Daily Mail would be in a tail spin.

  • @dovestones

What the hell? Are you from an antimatter universe or something?

  • Pure insane Milligan madness, he's greatly missed

  • 60 people are time lords!

  • Actually I dont think its a price tag on her dress. Spike often had a name tag on most constumes in the Q series. Im guessing its one of those.

  • I like how the wife still has a price tag on her dress. :D

  • 59 people go in the curry but great i laughed all through the vid

  • Put it in the curry! XD ahahah lolololol

  • Inimitable and sadly missed. What a treasure he was. And he did tell us he was ill. !! LOLS

  • how did they have kids lol

  • @hahazet Some things are best left unanswered...!

  • @wasp27 maybe :)

  • @hahazet I think I just had an idea for a new type of porn.... it'll be huge in Japan!

  • @StevenBee2 not going to ask wat its going to be called

  • @hahazet .......exterminations with a happy ending?

  • @StevenBee2 lol good title

  • @hahazet Well, you see, when a Woman and an omnicidal mutant in a tin can love each other very much...

  • @tf2whackyengineer

That had to have been a painful birthing delivery, for mama, there. o_O

  • @TheCastellan Not so much, Daleks are green blobs with tentacles, the iconic metal things are just their travel/life support machines. :D

  • @Greatsaiyakirby

I know that, but seeing junior Dalek, and picturing her deliverign him....machine and all. XD

  • 59 people need to be put in the curry

  • @egapnala65 In fact, Terry gave his personal permission for Milligan to use Daleks in his sketches because when Terry was a struggling stand-up comedian, Mulligan paid him 10 pounds for a few of his jokes after saying "Your jokes are funny, but you're not."

  • Ive see this so many times..its just so funny.

Spike was and is a genius..he didnt allways get it right, but when he did nobody could touch him.

    Thanks Spike.

And a big FUCK OFF to the BBC and Channel 4 for erasing all those classic episodes....

  • @169nht Although most of the Q5 series from 1969 was erased , most if not all of all the other series still exists - Q6 from 1975 , Q7 from 1978 , Q8 from 1979 , Q9 from 1980 and There`s A Lot of It About from 1982 - it`s just the BBC are so PC they wont even release it on BBC DVD or licence it to anyone else to release. They did broadcast 5 half-hour compilation shows on TV in 1993 called Q Milligan - but some of the sketches were heavily edited

  • lol my name is spike

  • "Somebodys exterminated granny"... "YES PUT HER IN THE CURRY" hahaha

  • too bad moffat's laying off the daleks for a while

  • @SEAHORSESNYC

What is wrong with you?!?!? Too bad I'm only on my iPod, otherwise I'd flag your comment. Not all Muslims are terrorists (most aren't) and not all terrorists are Muslim. Also, what you are saying makes you no better in the head than any terrorist. Additionally, this is the wrong video to make such a comment on. Think before you speak, act, write, or comment next time (and all times afterwards).

  • Oh for the days when being exterminated was to have a large explosion next to you.....

  • Ahh so THIS is what a Dalek does after a hard day at work......

  • seriously spike?

  • Daleks? INDIAN! [/GoodnessGraciousMe]

  • Lol...............the little Dalek destroyed his homework

  • These Daleks strike me as more likely Indian than Pakistani.

  • Briiiiant!

  • Now ~I know a Pakistani and she is v.bossy...does this make me racist? xx

  • anyone else think that this should be a sitcom?

  • Which characters did Spike play? The Father Dalek?

    I don't think it's the woman.

  • Well, Osama bin Laden "was exterminated". Should we put him in the curry, too? LOL!!

  • dogs aren't halal.. neither are grannys

  • Put Him In The CURRY :D ^^

    HAHA

  • And they're pakistani becaauuse??

  • They might have made the turban look a bit more realistic

  • Absolutely fanastic, put it in the curry!

  • An absurd, surreal, gem of a sketch......fucking hilarious!

  • Dalek Junior. Hehe.

  • ''That's Raciss' !''

-Would they attempt Paki-Dalek jokes today (2011) ?

  • Put this current society in the curry.

  • 54 peop.....wait, I HAVE A LIFE!

  • Now, over 1200 people like it

  • What is the Dalek have on his head?

  • @ReverendSyn I think it's supposed to be a turban, but since Daleks don't have the same shaped head as people, it doesn't quite fit right.

  • LMAO genius

  • waaaaa,haaaaa haaaaaaa..

  • Put Im In THe KURRY :D ^^

  • Comment removed

  • How prophetic - this is what disaffected Pakistanis are doing to their Briitsh hosts.

  • @jonnybottle Be careful, you'll get exterminated for saying that

  • I told my ten year old about this sketch. Some of the old tv is the funniest. Spike was a very zany man.

  • I'm Pakistani, and I love Dr Who.

So this is the funniest thing I've seen in quite a while. ^_^

  • ahha crasy shit man

  • PUT IT IN THE CURRY!

  • British humour? The really funny thing is that Spike fought in the British army but was refused citizenship because he was born in India of Irish parents.

    So he became an Australian.

  • @Nastyswimmer

Not exactly. He adopted his father's Irish citizenship and was declared stateless because he declined to take the oath of allegiance he would need to gain full British citizenship. He lived in Australia back in the 1960s because his parents decided to move there.

  • @Nastyswimmer not sure he was refused, he refused because they wanted him to take an oath of allegiance to the crown, which I think pissed him off just a little bit after the war...

wikipedia has down as irish, but they have been wrong before

  • @Nastyswimmer he had Irish citizenship.

  • He never became an Australian, his mother lived in Australia. Spike was a displaced person until he was granted Irish Citizenship.

  • @Nastyswimmer It's got British actors, British themes and has the set out of classic British Comedy. Breaking things, fun stunts and corny sets, I love our country :) But it's classic...

If it was American Humour it would be bad jokes...some love and annoying people.

  • @Nastyswimmer sad...he degenerated to a thief

  • @Nastyswimmer He would not had been. India was part of the British Empire, and before the year 1981, simply born upon British soil would had made him a "British subject", i.e. a "British citizen".

  • @Nastyswimmer oh bugger off

  • @Nastyswimmer

Really? Spike became an Irish citizen in 1962.

  • @Nastyswimmer Odd that - he HAD British citizenship, and HAS been knighted.

  • @PhilK22 He also had Irish citizenship. It is possible to hold several citizenships. But because of that he was only only given honorary knighthood. (He was never Sir Spike Milligan.)

  • @Nastyswimmer There was a lot of crap about Spike and this "because he had Irish parents" They were of Irish DECENT - so am I. and Im as British and anglo-saxon as they come though. Milligan took the piss out of the whole thing, and too many people WANTED to take it seriously.

    Like yourself.

  • @PhilK22 No his father was irish.

  • @PhilK22 Spike's parents weren't "of Irish descent". His mum was straightforwardly English, his father Irish - Leo Milligan was born and bred in Sligo Town. Spike himself held an Irish passport, as he was born in India to an Irish father and didn't qualify therefore for a British one.

Spike was an example of a fertile cross-culturing - part of the British military vaudeville tradition, but also the surrealism and verbal dexterity of Irish writers such as Flann O'Brien.

  • Whoever thinks this is racist has the sense of humour of a rusted tent peg that has been left on a campsite in Denbighshire and spends it's time lusting over Anne Widecombe drizzled in runny panda exrement.

  • very funny video. I love British humor. it's the best!

  • 56 people are in the curry.

  • Problem is today Pakistanis exterminate with suicide bombs!

Funny stuff - when British humour wasn't hijacked by the 'racist' politically correct crap we now have to put up with.

  • I never knew this existed. Funny as heck i say.

  • I dont get why everyone's going on about the whole 'racist' nature of the video, you have to think about when it was released which was probably around the 1960's and around those times the topic of racism wasnt as sensitive as it is now. So for anyone complaining that its racist, go complain to someone who gives a shit.

  • Spike Milligan was born and grew up in India.

  • they're gonna exterminate the doctor and put his remains in the curry

  • look, i'm on 3,500 rupees a day, there's nowt wrong wi that

  • Also I say my goodness, just what are people complaining about the glorious humour of this wonderful Irishman?

  • My goodness, there are idiots commenting on racial slurs. You ppl take yourselves far too seriously. Think about it - the comedy genius of the man. He came up with a sketch about a Daleks home life - who gives a damn about how he delivers that - curry, irish stew, roast beef, haggis. It's sheer genius. You serious, chip on the shoulder ppl should go away to sites more fitting to your complete lack of a sense of humour.

  • I come on to see this great sketch.. and what do I find in the comments..? Endless po-faced sixth-form debate about caste-systems and god knows what.. Well THERE's a surprise..

What the hell is wrong with you lot? Aquire a sense-of-humour for god's sake..
