The title of this video doesn't make any sense. Governors don't execute inmates. George W. Bush didn't prosecute the case. He didn't hand out the guilty verdict. He didn't hand out the death sentence. Blame that on lawyers, jurys and judges. The only thing that a governor can do is stop an execution. He didn't hand out the death sentence.
I don't know if he was executed on the hair alone. A jury hearing "this hair matches" from a chemist isn't exactly the same as someone at the scene saying "that was the man who killed him/her".
Everyone keeps hearing that this guy is going to be brought before an international tribunal for war crimes. Why is this guy untouchable by international law? This makes the whole process phoney and compromised. Give this guy his day in court and deal with him according to the crimes. What ever happened to RONALD RUMPSFELD? Is he hiding from justice? All who commit war crimes must be tried and, if guilty, be punished according to their crimes, up to and including the ultimate punishment, death.
@telboyy I don't know what you're getting at, shithead. But, since you apparently don't know your exclamation points (!!!) from your question marks (???)...I wouldn't even concern myself with grasping the English language, written or otherwise, if I were you.
Just like George W. Bush! (You see, that is an appropriate use of an exclamation point. Try it, next time...).
And THIS is why the death penalty needs to go away. It's not deterring people from murdering other people and we end up executing innocent people. Just 1 innocent person being executed is 1 too many.
@DisturbedHavok I disagree that the death penalty needs to go away. Sure, it is a huge decision and in this case maybe the wrong one. But if a person does something so evil and wrong showing that they don't respect someone's life, they don't deserve life themselves and imprisoning them for 60 years is just hoping for the best. They could not be rehabilitated and then they are just put back behind bars wasting your money and mine.
@nealsmith85 Who cares if they're rehabilitated. "Equal protection under the law" means it applies to everyone or it applies to no one - that's a founding principle for this country. If there's ever a chance that 1 innocent person would be executed, it should go away. If you actually believe in what this country stands for, we can't sell out our principles because they're inconvenient for us - then they aren't exactly principles.
@DisturbedHavok really? I care if they're rehabilitated. If someone has no regret or sorrow for the devastating act they committed then they don't deserve a second chance at life. You can't tell me that Charles Manson or John Wayne Gacy deserved a second chance and we could allow them to once again roam the streets and potentially cause that kind of pain on another innocent family. Come on, if you want to talk about rigid adherence then why is God being taken out of everything?
@nealsmith85 It's called "Life without the possibility of parole". You might want to see what that means. Prison escapes happen very rarely. Hell, Manson's been held for how long now?
@DisturbedHavok Yeah I know what it is. It's stupid. Why keep that person alive and pay for their clothes, their doctors, their food for 70 years. What's the point of life without a pursuit of happiness?
@DisturbedHavok Oh and I never said anything about prison escapes. I meant actually letting them go, which actually does happen. In my opinion, I stress opinion, a rapist for instance does not deserve the breath he was given. That person should not live longer than necessary to ensure due process and a fair trial that convicts them.
@nealsmith85 They lost their pursuit of happiness. They gave it up. It's actually cheaper, by the way, to go for incarceration for life instead of the death penalty. We could cut out a lot of the cost for life incarceration, but that would remove the many checks in our system to make absolutely certain we got the right guy.
As for "letting them go"... seriously? Gacy was never let go and neither was Manson. Our private prison system is the reason rapists are let out instead of say, pot smokers.
@DisturbedHavok I know Gacy or Manson wasn't let go. I'm only saying that you're picking and choosing which rights they get now. Yes they gave up their pursuit of happiness, but can't you agree that they gave up their life as well? Why are we so considerate in the first place when we administer capital punishment?
i asume a judge, a jury, a sheriff, witnesses, a prosecuter and a forensic team was involved in the execution of this man. .... but it is george bush's fault. wow.
@Albatros2U In your case, are you aware of the Norfolk Four? THAT being said, my point is that there are much better examples of misapplied justice. "The System," "Racism," "Education," "Economics..." whatever you want to gripe about, fine. But, to blame W is simply lazy, misleading, unproductive, propagandized 'journalism'. And, I've never supported him...
..."because of RT and Alyona" poor souls like you get duped into believing this crap as "more balanced news." The only time this show reports anything outside of the beltway, is if it was already on RT (with an Anti-American slant), within 20mi of the LA/NY studio, if Priya is on her way home to India, Frazao in South Dakota, or if it's on YouTube already via the MSM. So, digg-off.
@animalliberation0961 I am inclined to think that the concept of due process and burden of proof may be a bit much to ask sometimes? What a concept...even if you are guilty until proven innocent (as is the case overseas) you should pay some attention to your cognitive processes. They may surprise you with logic!
Jeez. The murder was in 1989, why not just go for the full Anti-American, 2-Party, Dubya/Bill Clements & Ann Richards trifecta?
As much as Alyona and RT would like to have us think that the US jail system is full of nothing but innocent Claude Jones/Mumia Abu-Jamals, it is not. They literally have the accused in Russia sit in cages, while in court. And the prison conditions from Siberia-Smolensk?? Why don't you report on that, RUSSIAToday?
@Y0UT00B3R1 In coming to brave and forthright Alyona: be so kind to note my response to the other not-s0-coherent subject. In your case, are you aware that America builds more prisons than schools? That being said, the system is broken such that punishment wins over rehabilitation...because of RT and Alyona, we are privileged with the more balanced news that report outside the beltway of politics and that stick to the truth. The latter, something you may find real deep in your channels--go dig!
aaah but I beg to differ, I get 1000 euro's a month to go to school which would sum up to about 40.000 when I'm done. After which the tax I pay till death is about 2000% of the initial investment in me as a slave you see :)
Sure it can be fixed, in the traditional GOP method you A) write a letter to the family expressing regret. B) get on the news and redirect the blowback to someone else.
Well, bush was the biggest criminal to ever be made president. Obama isn't a criminal, just not too bright.
And the fact that he killed a fellow Texan is unforgivable. In the sneakiest of ways too. This is where i can agree with the damn Taliban, drown that fucker in oil.
@emerson24 Russia Today. Its a news cable channel produced by the Kremlin. Take a grain of salt with everything you hear because you'll get news stories CNN, FOX, and MSNBC won't tell you but at the same time they have an agenda.
Believe me, the Bush family has killed more people than you could ever imagine. I have a friend who whacked 10 people for Bush senior. He was caught and sentenced to ten years. That's one year, for every person that he had killed, at his commander's orders. He even showed me the paperwork.
The Bushes are more evil and have created more evil, than the average human being can actually wrap their minds around!
@checkcall123 It's a scary one. I didn't really want to see those papers, but he was adamant about it. For some reason, he really wanted me to know this stuff.
