Lets see a virtuoso is someone that possesses outstanding ability at either singing or playing an instrument hmm....I don't see any mistakes and it's played very clean and fluidly, And is also very technical. I'd be willing to bet that most people that comment on this harshly saying he isn't virtuoso couldn't play this at all.
@jbrown198323 Well he sorta has the hair. If he grew it a little longer and took of those dorky glasses then he'd possibly be a virtuoso. At the moment, he just looks like a complete nerd (but a nerd who's pretty good on a guitar). Little tip for the guy there. Grow your hair longer and lose those glasses then even if you can't play, at least you'll look like a virtuoso.
@angels77100 jajajajajaaja.... of course he can't... 'cuz he only play ACADEMIC MUSIC, music from the heart anfd Soul, not music from the Alcohol or drougs, or gays!!!! jajajajaja..... HE PLAYS THE BEST MUSIC, music that can't UNDERSTAND!!!
@lfmusik Yes I completely agree with you. Even the legendary (possibly first guitar virtuoso) Angus Young had to start somewhere. This kid's got a long road ahead of him before he breaks through to the big stage, but with a lots of practise, (hell even Angus had to practise) a good mullet haircut, dark shades instead of those nerdy glasses, and a few bottles of Jack Daniels. I'm confident that he'll make it.
hell yea collin dakota tyson says whats up from tennesse i miss pcca and bracio man if it wasnt for this song me phil and steven wouldnt be motivated hah thanks for kicking our ass our freshman year
Without a mind, no feeling could be expressed or understood, we could not organize those thoughts and feelings with sound, we would have no concept of time, no concept of music. Fact is music does not come from the heart. The heart just pumps the blood through our body and brain, without which music would not exist. It only serves as an organic metronome to the rhythm of our life. The heart could not beat and the soul would not have a body with which it could leap were it not for the brain.
Is that a Gordon Giltrap track? I've been playing 25 years and can't get close to this guy. Awesome playing mate, don't listen to the neg comments, you rock in a acoustic, classical sort of way ;)
I started playing the guitar at age 12, today i am 54... yes that's 42 years on guitar. I am amazed at the people that get on here and say such stupid things like.... "He isn't that good" or "He isn't a Virtuoso because he didn't take his eyes off the strings or frets" Stupid Stupid people. At least he has a video on here and most of you don't. He does a wonderful job, splended. Keep it up ytoung man.
@kydaystar, virtuoso is in my opinion fitted better to intense flamenco playing. This isn't one of them. Yes he is good, but no he isn't virtuoso. Look at Jason Mcguire and see what I'm talking about.
Playing in front of a live audience is completely different than sitting at home and recording countless takes in order to realize your 'perfect' interpretation; then posting it on youtube. I give this guy a lot of credit,.. he did a damn good job.
I have heard far more talented guitar players than this guy, and they dont dare to call themselves Virtuosos. May be the title a good guitar player would be more appropriate.
very nice playing...my guess is he's not a true virtuoso (don't think he took his eyes off the fret board once)...however i'm definitely not an expert and would love to play that well!
Excellent performance! I'm in awe of your nephews extraordinary talent. This one is going straight to my favorites too. He certainly is a guitar master. Thanks for sharing and please post more of your nephews guitar videos.
Man those mics were close! They're usually positioned farther away for classical. This song is "Sunburst" by Andrew York. He's got good time in the bass section in the second half. Overall a good rendition of this popular modern guitar piece.
I'm not a classical player, but I really appreciate the technique and dedication that you obviously have. Your playing made me smile and I think you're great! God Bless
Good job kid keep it up!

@kydaystar If you've been playing guitar for 42 years then that means you're even better than AC/DC. So how come I haven't heard of you?

The playing is good, but it isn't right that you don't have an attribution to Andrew York in the title of the video.

Yet another example of the misuse of the term 'Virtuoso'
Hairymonkey123 3 years ago 7
@Hairymonkey123
I agree; he's very stiff and at times this is very harsh.
Almost every single time I see someone use that term is means they are far from being a virtuoso; people should avoid that term like the plague.
Obviously he's a very skilled player but the standards are so high now and a virtuoso is someone who really is a mature master like Julian Bream.

U have to take your eyes away from the fretboard to be a virtuoso? Thats the most stupid thing i've ever heard.
Struven1 2 years ago
Not bad, but not very technically difficult and piece gets a bit boring.
sautezFort 3 years ago
you don't play guitar yourself, do you?
trappedsoul7 3 years ago
Yes I do play guitar and have been doing so for 15 years.
When I say that it's not very technical that is a true statement. You can argue it all you like.
As for it being boring, I consider that a matter of personal choice.
