  • R.I.P. Aileen, hope you found peace of mind, wherever you are !

  • an infectous beat, and that so very unique voice make this song a classic!!!

  • all you female so called singers out there, take notes when you listen to Natalie. She is so cool and very deep, unlike the fluffy crap being turned out today!!!

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO love it!

  • shes purdy

  • simple, beautiful

  • my favorite song ever!!!!!!! :D

  • Alieen was the victim. Rest in parade baby girl.

  • @Adrianlovescupcake A long n violent criminal past NOT counting 7men all shot 3-9 times left stripped naked in the woods."I'll kill again if you let me outta here!"Yea, that sounds like a victim alright..ppffft!She was a serial killer who showed NO remorse even at the end.She wasn't a sweet loving girl or a humanitarian or a person who influenced society in any positive way whatsover. You people watch "Monster" and think that's what really went down. She was a evil human who got whas she deserved.

  • aileen had good taste.

  • one very cool chic with a lot of soul, one of my favorite female singers of all time along with Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell.

  • Nice, but it shouldn't have been chopped so suddenly - ruins the whole atmosphere.

  • 10 people were born in 2000+

  • she got 100% of a miserable life and 100% of a sick mind all at once

  • Kick butt guitar solo

  • 95% on your math test is great, but posting 95% of a song is a fail.

  • Yeah... save you LP III +

  • Aileen Foreveeeeer!!

a woman with character, not stupid like most weak and submissive

  • @11043criminal

    She was strong!

  • Shit. Was diggin' it but it was cut short!

  • what a voice...what soul \m/ \m/

  • marioskysh iam asking the same question everyday i agree with you but one of the reason y think is becse most of the people don't play atencion on the rithims and they like to see no to hearing the music like you know big sunglasses a lot of blink s and bad words to womans but anyway the life is a carnival i believe the good singer's gone bcuse they are very shame about those who said are the numbers one 1000 of copys sale yea right pffthff

  • this is a complete artist and this kind of singer dont born every year like she said life is a carnival

  • where all these good singers and musuicians gone , why ?, all we have now is disposable bad music , lost in money and without soul and without life itself.

it's a shame for all of us .

  • good solo playing

  • Like no other...best song of our generation

  • Why you cut it off? This is like having sex but stopping just before the Grand "O".

  • @msrainman100---- i liked aileen.... yea she took 7 guys lives but thats the life she knew and one of which raped her and beat her... but she was straight up and funny... i watched her documentary and her in prison speaking and she didn't hold shit back lol

  • @krissydawnl What a minute I had no idea, are you saying Natalie was raped? Could you send me a link to that interview? I'd love to hear it.

  • @Crackmandan--- No i was talking about Aileen being raped.... this song from Natalie Merchant was played at Aileens funeral services

  • @Crackmandan Aileen Wuornos requested this at her funeral following her execution...per her wiki page, she was cremated and ashes were scattered beneath a tree in her native Michigan and this song was played at her funeral

  • This song/video takes me back to the summer of 1995, my first summer in Manhattan, a summer I'll never forget. It wasn't the safest, but it was full of life. Downtown Manhattan, Soho, the West Village, incredible places to see, never got sick of walking through them day after day.

Now it's gone. The art scene, music scene, all gone, everything glazed over. I remember in the 90's, people were more supportive of the arts. Maybe not with money, but at least they appreciated it.

  • She's been called many things: spanish teacher, art student on crack, children's book author...but no one can deny that she is GENIUS.

  • at 2:08 we experience the very first "myspace" shot! Thanks a lot Natalie Merchant.

  • This song speaks so much to me, now that I'm in my 20's.

  • love it, love it, love it and Natalie Merchant!

  • aileen wuornos had this played at her funeral

  • very good

  • i want this to be played at my funeral :D

  • WTF! :) At 3:12 they just edited the girl to look like a prostitute.

Where around 42nd st. is there an elevated train? If you're not from NYC, you have no idea that she's not actually anywhere near Times Sq.

Yet they purposely put her (probably some random Puerto Rican girl) into the 42nd st. porn shop series.

I bet she was not to happy about being edited to look like a Times Sq. whore. :)

  • I just finished watching Fiona Apple's "Criminal" what was up with the woman-with-camera phase in the 90s?

  • @emiynu ha! me too! these ladies sure kick the shit outta what's passing as music these days, huh?

  • @emiynu ha! me too! these ladies sure kick the shit outta what's passing as music these days, huh? Heather Nova, Pj, tori amos.....vs cheryl cole, nicole sh-whats-er-name, and lady gaga. not much of a contest, really....

  • aileen that is your song

  • @Arafee1860 WUORNOS !!!!!!

  • This song is sexy...

  • wounderful music :)

  • my favorite song from her was starting third grade

  • hmdejoy:Thank you its nice to know others share this view. At times I feel alone in my thoughts. Its nice to know that you are out there. Peace.

  • She's taking pictures with an old fashioned analog camera instead of with those digital ones or any kind of cellphone! That's 1995 for ya!

  • Now maybe post the whole thing.

  • De nada

  • thanks you for uploading this video

  • This is a very powerful video with equally powerful lyrics. This carnival of ours that we have created and that ive been witnessed to year in year out, forces me to ask who are we? where are we headed? I pray that we find the significance of each of our parts in this great carnival called humanity, and transform this tragic comedy into a wonderful story of hope, undertsnding ,love and eternal peace. Let us create a play of wonder and beauty. Let us be what we were born to be. Creatures of LOVE.

  • @SuperJingo1 I absolutely love your comment. This is exactly how I feel.

  • ...i will always enjoy this song... <3

  • Thanks for posting a version with such good quality sound.

    :-)
