  • did they hatch? i was hoping they would hatch at the end of the vis lol, i love birds, we have a single peanut feeder in the garden which is about 3 mtrs from my window and the birds love it, im now in the mids of trying to make my own window sill feeder...

  • @tinylunn - That's cool, I hope your birds are successful! No, they didn't hatch, both of the doves screwed the nest up - one knocked an egg out of the nest during the switchover (when they switch who's sitting on the egg so the other can forage) and the 2nd dove came back and knocked the entire nest over the day right after that. They're notorious for being somewhat disastrous nesters, so that's not really surprising, but it would have been awesome to catch them fledging on camera!

  • Niceee :)))

  • @TheSupergame2010 - Thanks! :)

  • Класс! И как интересно людей не боится ?

  • @charliker2 - They do fear people a little bit, so I tried to keep my distance from them when I set the camera up.

  • kind video

  • @Layouts4Facebook - Thanks!

  • really awesome video

  • @aceto89 - Thanks! :)

  • great, thanks :)

  • @GryFM - You're welcome, I'm glad you like it!

  • A few years ago I saved one from an outside cat, and my sister kept it. One of it's wings is permanently messed up, but otherwise it's still healthy. What's funny is how it raises it's good wing like it's going to smack her when she changes it's food and water.

  • Ha! That's awesome - :) That's great that you were able to save it!

  • Thanks !!!!!

  • You're welcome - :)

  • Nice video! I like it!

  • Thanks for saying so, I'm glad you like it!

  • That is so sweet! MD make me smile! :) Thanks for sharing ur videos,, I have been so behind on checking out ur videos and others.. I will make a point to check back much sooner. :) U take such gr8 videos,, :)

  • I'm glad you like it! Thanks for saying so! I may release more un-edited videos, because it takes me so long to edit new videos lately, I'm extremely picky about which shots I want to include, so editing one piece takes me months and months, especially during the week (because work takes up most of my time during the week) - so I might just take a cue from the Sleepy coon video and release more like that. Have a nice night and say "Hi" to Shy-Shy for me! :)

  • Nice Vidsss

  • Thanks!

  • Wow! What great footage Zach!

  • Thanks! When I have an opportunity to record things like this, I try not to pass it up! We had an active squirrel's nest right outside one of the windows upstairs, I tried to record as much of that as I could too, but it didn't work out - :(

  • Very nice indeed. 5 stars.

  • Thanks for saying so, and thanks for the rating!

  • Aww! This is soooo precious!

  • Thank you! :)

  • when you said i wish they didnt knock it over... what do you mean.. did the eggs break?

  • Yes - :( Actually, one of the doves knocked the one egg out of the nest on one day, and then the day following that, another dove knocked the entire nest off of the windowsill. I've heard that doves are kind of careless with nests, but that proves it.

  • That's so cool - to be able to observe the nest so closely.

  • I thought so too! I just wish they didn't knock it over - :(

  • nice : )

  • Thanks!

  • AND, I never got to see what's going on inside of the nest... as it it up high near the ceiling of the porch. so Thank You for the insiders look!

  • Ah, I see what you mean, it's out of reach of a camera - you're welcome for the view!

  • It's rumored I have an orphaned one that's 12 years old now.

  • It's rumored? How is that? That's pretty cool that you have one though!

  • They're illegal to keep as a pet.

So, it's rumored I have an orphan.

A darn cat destroyed the nest and Peepers was the only survivor.

  • Ah! OK, got it - :)

  • Your so lucky to get these really close up and clear shot of all the animals in your back garden and around your house! :O

It is very interesting to watch all you videos XD

  • Thanks for saying so! Some of those animals aren't in my backyard (like the raccoons - I would *love* to have raccoons in my area, but it's too congested of an area for them to live successfully) but I try to capture as close as a shot as I can! I love shots of animals messing with the camera - some people don't like animals playing with the cam, but I say "you can always clean the lens off after they sniff it, what's the harm in letting them check it out for a little while!"

  • Oops! Not during the changeover - if you listen closely about 0:55 into the video, you can her her move the egg around with her beak!

  • Awesome. Gentle birds who scare so easy. Good capture.

  • Thank you for saying so, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  • You're very welcome! I'm sorry it took me so long to release!! Sorry to hear about the flowerpots, I've been looking forward to seeing some new dove videos from you too! I'm not sure about the fleas, it's very possible - this video is spliced together from about 4 hours of video, so he might just be a little uncomfortable sitting on the nest. The best part of this video is the sound - if you listen really carefully, especially during the changeover, you can hear them move the egg around!!

  • this is so cool. I have pet white doves. Did this dove end up having chicks, it didnt fall down?

  • Thanks! No, it fell down - sorry! :( I was so looking forward to taping the chicks fledge, but the doves knocked the nest over and that spelled the end of that. That's awesome that you had pet doves, they look like they'd be very peaceful.

  • A pair makes a nest on my front porch...several batches every season... two at a time. The mom leaves the nest and a minute or two later the dad flies in. The two babies get pretty big before they take off. And a couple of weeks later, the whole thing starts all over again. (They are messy though... as far as, my porch being full of POOP!!)

  • Hehe... that's kind of the way with any birds though... you got birds nesting, you're gonna have poop - :) That's cool that you have that though, people rarely get to see how a nest works unless they have some sort of dedicated nest with a camera monitoring it that the birds like to use annually.

  • Absolutely wonderful!

  • Thank you for saying so! :)

  • good

  • Thanks :)

  • Your video of the mourning dovey made my day ! Thank you so much. So BEAUTIFUL video, the dovey is so sweet, so caring..... I hope to see the chicks soon.

5 stars for such amazing video

  • Thank you so much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I wish I could say the nest worked, but the doves knocked it off the windowsill before the eggs hatched - ;( Mourning Doves are notorious for nesting in perilous spaces, and most of their nests fail... these birds must have been first-year nesters, because they're not as careful as they should have been.

  • I watched a pair of Doves build a nest, but the HOSP disrupted it. We get about 6 of them on the ground under the feeders.

Great footage! Hah, right outside the window..perfect viewing. Cute and they are pretty birds I think.

  • Thank you! I think so too! They seem to get a bad rap as being kind of "dumb" birds, but it's so awesome to be able to view them like this. I'm sorry to hear about your Doves' nest, it would have been awesome to see them make the nest!

  • Yeah true huh. Yeah, well I had probs with those dang HOSP, my only hated bird.

  • What are HOSP again? I remember you telling me, but I forgot - house sparrows?

  • Yeah, House Sparrows...baby bird killers.

  • Great FOOTAGE!! i always thoguht they make there nest underground ? i most be thinking of another bird lol

  • I'm not sure which birds do that, but they sound interesting! Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you liked the video! :)

  • Great clip. Very cool to have the nest so near.

  • Thanks! I thought so too! :)

  • Really nice Zach! :)

  • Thanks! I'm glad you liked it!

  • That's wonderful :) So it's incredible bird don't fear about near people ... also made a nest on the window :P You're lucky :) Congratulations

  • Thanks! I thought so too! I just looked up one day and saw this nest, and decided to start recording it - little did I know the nest would soon become active (I found it *just* before the hen laid the first egg!), but I taped it for a few weeks! I wanted to get an in-depth view of the chicks too, but the doves knocked the nest down just before the eggs hatched - ;(
