  • for a heel stretch your foot is supposed to be in front of your face, if its to the side it dont look pretty!

  • i have really long legs and i cant reach my ankle unless i bend my standing knee. i am also having trouble straitening the leg thats up. anything i can do? stretches? variations? anything?

  • @awsesomesheep stretches will help you become more flexible to do that

  • I taught myself this last night and I wanted to see if anyone else did it like I did.. I put my foot in a hair towel and I pulled it until my foot was just behind my head.. Then I grabbed my foot with my hands and BAM!! Scorpion..

  • ya i agree with makeupnerd in cheer your heel stretch should be in front of you its only on the side in bow and arrows believe me i cheer at VAS in vancouver, canada who is the second best in canada and the best in B.C. and that side of canada but your super flexible for your irst time doing these stretches you should take up cheer you would be good at it

  • @FamousLexi we did - we were in the same class & katrina skipped an early grade so now they are in the same one

  • Haha. The girl first gave a ribbon to Katarina because she'll need it for scorpion, and she put it in her hair :) Then they had to search a second one ahah.

  • @nf094e yes - as long as you do it right and hold it for 20-30 seconds

  • to hold your leg up could you use yarn besides ribbon

  • till i was 18 i still used to do stretches and i can do scorpion but now i lose a lil flexibility. i regret it now. but i will do stretches exercise again.

  • @HelloImHannah25 i know how you feel. But don't worry,you'll get it....

    1) A good way for a beginner's back bend to improve is to always have a spotter.

    2) Have a soft surface. (Grass, carpet) Avoid tile or concrete.

    1) Start w/ your legs apart and hands above your head.

    2) Slowly lean backwards. Make sure your legs are stiff and they do not move. Ark your back as if somwone where catching you.

    3) When you've tilted back as far as possible, catch yourself with your hands.

  • @TheAMurillo831 back bridges are great (in the bridge move your legs closer then farther away) We also have a vid on back stretches on our channel

  • The way they use the ribbon for the scorpion is kind of like how they use bands or straps in a lot of yoga poses, a good tool.

  • @ZanessaSims you can probably look online or ask any gymnasts/dancers/cheerleaders you know (or gym teachers) and they can probably recommend some place

I've done cheerleading for a year but jumping around a shouting go team go wasn't for me (nothing wrong with it though) I was wondering am I too old to start gymnastics? I'm not interested in competing just learning the skill. If so my second choice is ballet, am i too old for that too? -A

  • @Coogars10 you are not to old for either one - see if you can do a trial class and see which one seems more fun to you

  • @MegaWizardz Acually learning a heel stretch is easier, and it starts to stretch out that muscle. I learned it before splits and it made my splits easier.
