I tried to play on .13 gauge strings like stevie for a while but damn it's really hard to even find a way for that smooth tone that he had... Now I used to play .11 on a Les Paul and .12 on a Strat and even that is real hard!
@MortimusGorgon Most of his guitars was half-step down tuned,he also had five springs in the bridge that leave it strong and at the same time light for the strings and well,he had alot strength in his fingers :)
hows he gettin that sound at 8:49 thro 10:00 is that wah all the way back or is it his tone rolled all the way off i c him reach for his tone right before but i cant tell what hes doing
@itonycSD It's usually called a skunk stripe and it covers up where they installed the truss rod. It helps prevent warping, somewhat, by being a separate type of wood from the rest of the neck, instead of one solid piece. Sonically, it makes no difference though.
@itonycSD the line on the neck does not do anything...there is a steel rod in the neck, i think it is called a truss rod, not sure, but the line is just where they fill in the hollowed out space after the rod has been placed in there...
Beautiful song. Love the rotovibe sound from this concert. Very nice. Stevie knew how to keep the crowd entranced.Even a slow moody blues type song keeps you want to hear the next note.Well played Stevie Ray well played.R.I.P missed forever never forgotten
