Marillion com certeza é uma das bandas que fizeram parte da época de ouro para nossos ouvidos e a qualquer tempo sejam fugazi, misplace childhood entre outros estaram fazendo parte da vida de milhoes pelo mundo.
i got into marrillion (fish era) thanks to my bruv..rip.. loved them ever since, as far as im concerned this is prog rock at its best!! no need for profanities wiv these guys to get attention unlike todays so called rock bands...beautiful song, thanks for posting
@christina74xx f**k yes!!!!!! Damn rite dere same to you person below youre rite too. But ye im 11 and my mum n dad r rockers and i was in da womb wiv dis on, as well as saxon, thin lizzy, magnum and soooo much more.
back den rock wasnt bout da drugs and women it was bout da music an enjoyin it for fucks sake! >:( i now im 11 but damn it i watch die hard and laugh. but back to the point. rocks about lovin it and playin it an bout da fans. wow i ave 46 charachters an countin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My son is only seven (7) years old and he already loves Marillion, Genesis, Blue Oyster Cult, etc..... Now i'm trying with my four (4) years old daugther. Will see. It's never too young to aprecciate great music. There is hope! Rock will never die !
ouvir Marillion e umas das coidsas mais linda e reconfortante pra mim,me faz lembrar de passagem da minha vida, pricipalmente quando eu iniciei a minha vida progressiva, viva o marillion
I bought this album 10 years ago....Im now 22 and the songs keep having new meanings in my life........Awesome song with an undenieable steve hackett influence on the solo
life leaves u ur heros never do this song is not the best its just a part of a habit and GOD i was well addicted seen these guys 10x the best long live F I S H
why do young people have to say 'i like this but im x years old'? To want more in music and have the ability to see past the shit in the charts is irelevant to age. Im sure plenty of much older people love all the crap thats played on the radio, a 45 year old man i work with bloody loves JLS (J-ust a L-oad of S-hite) so being young doesnt mean/suggest that you have a preference to crap music, many young people have a very tasteful eclectic enjoyment of older music, im one of them aswel!!
Bought this album on vinyl (EMI Fame Budget Label) back in the late 80's when i was getting into the band's music. Mark Kelly's keyboard work is really atmospheric and Fish's lyrics are great.
Wow, this is pretty awesum music and the lyrics are really amazing. My friend gave me misplaced childhood to listen to this afternoon and now i'm hooked. You wouldn't know it's from ages ago it's way better than brittany speirs, lolz. That made me laugh Torch6661, older people must think we're all plastic teens, lol.
One of my biggest regrets is that despite these guys being from my Hometown ( I have sat next to them while out drinking in one of teh local bars, and my Mum taught Marks daughter) I never got to see them live....
Have all their stuff on Vinyl and when ever I am back home I cant help humming Market Square Heroes as I walk through the cherry blossom in the Market Square.....Memories of a Misplaced Childhood I wonder....
i really got into Fish when i was 12, i'm now 15. I feel that when i go to fish gigs....for example the convention in Leamington Spa, the older Fish fans don't believe i like the music and piss take.
"Shouldn't you be into Britney Spears or something?"
I love fish, he's a lyrical genius, and the stuff he did with Marillion is just magic.
@Torch6661 I go through the same thing - I'm 15 and in to Genesis and Marillion and Pink Floyd and all that kind of music, and people just don't realize their talent, and amazing songs that they have produced. I seriously can't wait for this rap/hip hop fad to be over with and this kind stuff to come back. Some people just don't realize what they're missing out on.
@blyson Im sorry I like this band for what its worth but HipHop > Marillion in terms of lyrics anyday. inb4 "all they talk bout is degradin women and money" that kind of reply is evident proof that you do not listen to the music at all or rather you listen to what you wanna hear to downplay the genre. People have a preference. Btw Mainstream is not Hip Hop.
@awesumblossom The lyrics may be of the same value, but modern "music" has left music. I appreciate hiphop texts even in our country (CZ), but they cannot become more famous, because they cannot talk to common men. Because for many people it sounds like fast reading of newspapers, no matter what´s said in the speach. People talk too much in our age. Almost noone can hear rap even like a music background (I mean at work, on the street, etc.) because there not much of music anymore.
somebody said, that music unite people - if we all talked together, that will be a big noise. If we all sang together, we sound as one big voice. Can you do this in hiphop songs? Definitely not. That´s the reason, why on any rock concert people sing together with band and on the "battle" (how it´s called, i think) they only listen to the interpret and wait, whoĺl be the best speaker. There it´s about words, these song is about music and melody. And thatś why we prefer it :-)
@Torch6661 I totally get your point. I'm 21 and get the same faces and comments from older people/fans. They should be happy that there's still hope for us young people and good music ;o)
@Torch6661 Well I had exactly the same when I was your age when Marillion were first breaking through the Marquee years at the time of Script For A Jester's Tear, except I got "Shouldn't you listening to Shakin'Stevens? Good for you keep that up because when you reach my dizzy age you will be a tour de force of musical knowledge!
Im 26 & grew up hearing this very often through my Dad, & I must say, to this day, this is probably the best song I have ever heard. Pure genius & emotion !
A big fan of Marillion during the Fish era and post... but this was the song that drew me to being a fan. Thank you so much for putting this on youtube, the live showings don't really give it justice.
Stumbled on this in a drunken stupor...evokes my teenage essence......yesterday starts tomorrow, tomorrow starts today...and who the f**k is Rick O'Shea???.. .:>)
What a great song. This is probably my favorite Marillion track. The melody is haunting, and the lyrics are so wonderfully cryptic. The guitar solo in the middle of the song reminds me a lot of Pink Floyd's "On the Turning Away."
I had forgotten how awesome the guitar solo is in this beautiful and heartbreaking song.
