  • Nice. I recall seeing a similar saw bench setup with an early Unimog at the Eglinton tractor show several years ago. Interesting to note that the Land Rover and Unimog both came out in the late 1940s, both intended to do similar work and both still in production today with very few changes in the design.

  • Great to see an example of Land-Rover's PTO use. I think I've seen a vintage photo of pulley belt being twisted into a figure-eight shape for such use. I've been collecting PTO units for several years with the intention of mounting on my '64 Series llA 88 after I restore each unit. I'm stilling looking for a hydraulic control valve and tank for the bottom PTO and pump.

  • Wow, that is so great !! Cheers from Canada :)

  • That's useful. Thumbs up!

  • have a 1969 88 i knew they do many such things , but nice to watch

  • i liked that video i love the series 1

  • Hello

The best way would be to get a pto and winch from a ex utility company 110 or 130 defender and modify it to fit the disco.Sorry i dont have any more videos of pto,s.

  • Nice video. Think I'll stick to electricity for my DIY projects though :) Do you have any more stuff involving PTOs? I'm just looking for more info on how they work and stuff. Planning to use my Disco 1 PTO to power a winch on the front, and wondering if anyone's done that and how I can get the power to the front from a rear facing PTO... Any experiences?

  • Somebody get that man a push stick! Great peice of kit, cheers for the video/

  • sounds like that blade is rubbing against the table .safety goggles will not help if blade looses a tooth .

  • The blade does have a bit of run out on it and so it rubs onto the wooden guides under the table .

I wonder if it can be straightened ?

  • Blimey!

And not a red Snap-on screwdriver in sight.

  • Are those the correct tilt fastenings on the side of the LandRover?

  • I,m pleased that you spotted those .

I think that the rivets may be the wrong type?

  • Have you still got all of your fingers ?, ps. you need to tighten the belt before you get serious about sawing wood !

  • Thanks for pointing out the belt which has some slack in it , I wondered if it should be a bit tighter but I imagine it needs some slack in it ?

So far have kept all my fingers unlike the first person I spoke to at the recent Masham Steam rally who had lost one of his in the spring .

I may take this landrover and saw to the Harewood steam rally on August Bank Holiday

  • Nice video. Sod using that thing.......
