In your vid description, you say "Chemistry background helpful." I have a chemistry background and I'll tell you it makes more sense if you know nothing about chemistry. The number of errors she makes is staggering. I count, roughly, about 6-7 in the first 2 minutes alone. Oh, and it's HAWKING. There's only 1. Please don't pluralize this one-of-a-kind man. @gadda01 She is an optometrist. In the USA this requires 1) A college degree, then 2) Four additional years in science and optometry. How anyone could go through all that, and not know basic science must be a failure of the optometry school she attended. Hard to explain!
@otissumnerbrown i think someone may have had some "extra tuition" or what ever you want to call it, either way at least the people she preaches to don't have a clue if she's right or not, thats the main thing i guess
@petrie911 An entire word? I guess, if you're satisfied with a sub-par education. True masters of the high-potency homeopathic lecture simply exhale at a volume slightly above normal, then leave the room.
Now, there are some who would call these guys poseurs. You see, the problem is that they're trying to cure their lack of knowledge with an education, which is totally allopathic. A TRUE GRAND MASTER of homeopathy knows that like cures like, so they learn by self-inflicted lobotomy.
Hawking, not Hawkings. Also, he didn't develop string theory; the idea started with Theodor Kaluza back in 1919 in response to Einstein's concepts about Relativity, and a lot of other physicists contributed to it as well.
Also, I love that NO ONE in the audience questions her claim that all of the mass in the universe can be condensed down to the size of a bowling ball.
@Tehpengwan Actually one of the axioms of string theory is that all fundamental particles are made of packets of energy vibrating at specific (quantized) fundamental frequencies. For example, an up quark is modeled as a string in 4-d hadron space with 2 resonance contributions: its fundamental frequency (that contributes to it having positive mass) and minute probabilistic vibrations resulting from the uncertainty principle(its size results in a large momentum uncertainty).
Bull to the shit. Mass is not negligible in E=mc^2
First off, the units won't be correct: energy is measured in Joules (or kilojoules, whatever you prefer) while speed is measured in meters per second. As you can see, J =/= m/s. Mass has to be put in there.
Dr Warner, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
this may be one of the funniest things I have ever seen. unfortunately, this is dangerous for people who opt to try homeopathic cures instead of scientifically demonstrated treatments. Pharmaceutical companies may be greedy, but these people are just as greedy and they have no science on their side.
"disease is when we turn energy into an alternate state." I'm trying really hard to at least understand where she's coming from. Not having much success.
I stopped listening after the 'crossing out mass' part. Fucking dumb bitch, if you condense all the mass you just diminish the volume it takes, and thus augment density. It will still have a fucking unimaginably immense mass, just condensed. WTF kind of a doctor is that? God damn idealist crook.
People like her scare me because they spread misinformation by talking about something that is essentially a religion as though it is scientific. She definitely has no understanding of science or she would see just how baseless homeopathy is. The only benefit is from the placebo effect. It won't prevent cancer or any disease, nor will it treat it. Anyone looking into homeopathy should consult someone who actually knows what they are talking about.
@Jonnymidford because they are systematically structured to think, and act as society has programed them to think.(Robotica's) And the low understanding of how every thing around us is energy, Just some things are vibrating at a much lower capacity,(solidification). Not having an alchemical understanding of how the energy we generate and the energy we envelope, affect us directly. And they just havent done any real research on the subject, or they wouldent be so ignorant.
@1necrovenom I do agree that the way she is explaining how homeopathy works is very bad, but between the lines she is speaking the truth. And homeopathy takes a metaphysical mindset to grasp the true fundamentals, and how energy blockages in the body need to be cleared. And if you seem to not possess any information on the auric field of the human body, then they will not understand how homeopathy works. That should help answer your question, go check out information online besides youtube.
This bitch knows her stuff. Changed my life. I can't believe that energy is the answer to everything. I'm literally going to start changing all the energy in my life and encase the bad energy in a bomb with chemicals and throw it at my neighbor's dog that shits in my yard! And take the dog shit which is made of bad energy and eat it to make it good energy!
Wow, is this wrong. I mean, like REALLY REALLY wrong. She needs to go back to those chemistry and physics classes she asked the group if they attended.
That's it. Argh! It's a conversion formula. Energy and mass are the same thing. They can neither be created nor destroyed, merely converted one into the other you brainless dipshit.
OMG. Whatever she is doing, it has nothing to do with logic or science. Cross something out of an equation because it *almost* amounts to nothing ??? Stephen Hawking sent by god? He is a super atheist??!! (And you wrote his name wrong in the description box). All universe mass is the size of a bowlingball? Boy oh boy i blanked out at that point in the ramblery. I am more sure than ever that homeopathy is completely unscientific. Thanks ^^
I think she intentionally makes her lecture so disjointed and disconnected so that no one realizes all the holes in her argument. She somehow jumped from mass to energy to the definition of disease to energy states to vibrations to bombs to dog poop to homeopathy being science. It's so random that no one can even process the last thing she said.
If the amount of mass is so tiny, you can't "cross it out." It would make the equation equal zero. Anything times zero is zero. Math is really hard for homeopaths, isn't it? 0.0000000001% is larger than 100% to these people.
You people are the same people that discounted acupuncture 20 years ago and called it quackery. Will one person here please tell me one thing she said that was wrong. Granted she sounds like a drunk 4 year old but thats besides the point. Please state which statements she made that were incorrect and please use specific scientific examples and/or studies that i can verify and read for myself. Do not use "science" as a blanket statement to falsify something you cannot understand.
@pencilrainbow I understand that not everyone has had a good education in basic maths & science, so I am going to explain some things for you.
**Basic maths: any number times zero = zero. So when she said that the universe's mass is zero (which is definitely wrong, but I'll get to that later), that means that by her equation, E=mass x 'light' = 0 x 'light' = 0, and NOT 'light.
** Einstein's equation: E=mc^2 which means Energy = mass x ('the SPEED of light')^2
Firstly, it is clear she does not understand this equation, as she only says that 'energy is mass times light' rather than mass times the SPEED of light SQUARED.
Secondly, this equation relies on mass being measured in Kg, so regardless of what the volume of the universe is, the mass of something is going to be more than zero.
@pencilrainbow Mezillina did a good job of explaining her problem with Einstein, so I'll explain her problem with string theory. First off, Stephen Hawking (not Hawkings) did not discover string theory. String theory didn't discover other energetic particles that vibrate, but theorized that all fundamental particles are made of 2d strings that vibrate, and their vibration determines their particle type. It has nothing to do with sound whatsoever. Your ears don't pick up that vibration. at all
@pencilrainbow Everything she said was wrong! All of it! Also, acupuncture is still debunked. It still does nothing, but can cause subcutaneous infections and, in worse cases, bone infections.
Religion and Science are incompatible. Mass requires space. Electrons, Protons and Neutrons are subatomic particles, and are mass, not energy. Disease is not defined as an energy state.
Disease: A disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, esp. one that produces specific signs or symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury.
Honestly, I never knew much about homeopathy, but noticed so much hatred and negativity around it that I tried it and I will admit I dont understand all the science around it but it has worked wonderfully for me. It has alos cured hypertension for my dad, who was very skeptical and thought it is all B.S. My cousin severe digestive tract issues were resolved by homeopathy. I dont give a shit about what everyone else says, all I know HOMEOPATHY has worked for me and my family...
@saaj72 It's called Placebo effect, sir. Simply put, it's when you get better because you will yourself to. It can be very effective in treating conditions caused by mental conditions, like stress or anxiety. Not to make you lose faith in your treatment, but it's true. Drug effects have to actually be tested -against- the placebo effect in order to ensure the drug is actually doing the job or the patient's own mind is.
@saaj72 Placebo effect. Provide proof that it actually works, please. It's all in your head. Modern medicine is billions of times more advanced than "homeopathy" or "semi-cloudy water".
First, Optometrists are not qualified to practice medicine. In general, homeopathy in considered MEDICINE. Charlene is an OD, and not an MD. I would think that OD should have basic science in her education as an OD. She is attempting to convince you of her high qualifications in the field of pure-science, and fails totally. What optometry college did she graduate from, or is that a bomb also?
A fabulous example of how using pseudo-scientific babble can confuse people. Other comments are correct - every sentence is incorrect. None more so than the one beginning "how homeopathy works..." because it is clearly a placebo and has been shown over and over again to have no effect beyond this
Actually, familiarity with chemistry, or physics, or biology, will prevent you from understanding this lecture. No, you cannot disregard the M (mass) from E=MC^2.
C squared (speed of light squared) is always exactly the same number. No Mass, no Energy. Mass is not measured by volume, minus all the empty space between electrons and the atomic nucleus. The universe, minus the empty space, would not be the size of a basketball. Otherwise, her remaining points (none) are quite valid. Very pretty.
This woman is getting "mass" confused with "matter". Mass is a measure of matter's resistance to acceleration.
Also, neutron stars are examples of matter crushed down so far as to squeeze out all the space within and between atoms and they're bigger than a bowling ball.
Also, Stephen HAWKING (no s at the end) didn't "give us string theory". Others worked on it long before him.
So to continue with her insanely stupid bomb metaphor, the "energetic pellet" is like a well placed counter-bomb that blows all of the little pieces back into the wall?
That is the funniest mental image I've had in months.
@NukeTheDebris She has an OD, in other words she's an optometrist. It's sad that our country let's people like that get a license in any scientific field.
This is no better than creation science. Attach big words, a couple of formulas that sound legit to the ignorant and you gain a following of bleating sheep
"So, if you take that formula, E = m c squared, you can almost cross out mass! So the formula ends up being energy equals the speed of light." Haha! I can't stop laughing at how incredibly stupid this woman's arguments are.
It's hard to really respond to this other than by sticking my tongue into my lower lip, slapping the palm of one hand over the back of the other, and making spastic "MMMFFFFPFPFP" sounds in the time-honoured playground fashion of imitating Joey Deacon.
Miraculous Indeed !!! A 12C homeopathic solution is equivalent to a "pinch of salt in both the North and South Atlantic Oceans".I note that homeopathic dilutions go much higher The presenter here mentions 30C.Therefore a homepathic remedies are pretty safe being so dilute.Eureka ! a homeopathic super cure all for all known illness's just mix every homeopathic remedy into a super concoction and put it into the city water supply and cheap instant health for all.Have I missed something folks?
Sometimes when my ears stop bleeding from hearing utter bullshit Woo like this, I have thoughts of not wanting to live on this planet anymore. But I'm sure they would argue about how my rocket fuel works.
electrons, protons, and neutrons indeed have mass. It's Hawking, not Hawkings. And just because the amount of mass in the universe (according to her) is relatively small compared to the amount of radiation that does not mean that it is insignificant to us. Also the vibrations theorized with string theory I would imagine are orders of magnitude off of the vibrations we can hear with our ears, and hardly effected by smacking some water on a table.

Please tell me this is fake. What is she a "doctor" of? I would hope no one could be this ignorant of how science works and actually have a college degree....
I literally cried while watching this. Less than 2 minutes in, I started crying. The sheer stupidity of this woman, I wonder if she's even taken high school physics. Einstein must be rolling in his grave right now. First of all E=mc^2 not E=mc like she said. Also she clearly has no idea how the formula even works. She says that all the mass in the universe is not much. But in comparison to what? E in joules is based on m in kilograms, and there are many many many kilgrams of mass in the universe
You cannot just eliminate mass from E=mc^2. What the fuck is she talking about? You're gonna need more than an 8 minute speech to completely undermine physics.
Dr. C. Werner is an optometrist. She has on training in physics. She is out of her depth. She just thinks that four years (and $100,000) qualify her to talk about pure science and physicis. She is attempting to IMPRESS YOU with her vast knowledge. This has not worked too well.
Did she just condone killing my neighbors dog with a bomb?

Disease: A disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, esp. one that produces specific signs or symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury.

Honestly, I never knew much about homeopathy, but noticed so much hatred and negativity around it that I tried it and I will admit I dont understand all the science around it but it has worked wonderfully for me. It has alos cured hypertension for my dad, who was very skeptical and thought it is all B.S. My cousin severe digestive tract issues were resolved by homeopathy. I dont give a shit about what everyone else says, all I know HOMEOPATHY has worked for me and my family...
saaj72 4 months ago
@saaj72 It's called Placebo effect, sir. Simply put, it's when you get better because you will yourself to. It can be very effective in treating conditions caused by mental conditions, like stress or anxiety. Not to make you lose faith in your treatment, but it's true. Drug effects have to actually be tested -against- the placebo effect in order to ensure the drug is actually doing the job or the patient's own mind is.
GryffinDarkBreed 4 months ago
@saaj72 Placebo effect. Provide proof that it actually works, please. It's all in your head. Modern medicine is billions of times more advanced than "homeopathy" or "semi-cloudy water".

First, Optometrists are not qualified to practice medicine. In general, homeopathy in considered MEDICINE. Charlene is an OD, and not an MD. I would think that OD should have basic science in her education as an OD. She is attempting to convince you of her high qualifications in the field of pure-science, and fails totally. What optometry college did she graduate from, or is that a bomb also?
otissumnerbrown 4 months ago
E=mC^2 as m tends toward 0, E tends toward 0, not C^2.
tifran9494 5 months ago
A fabulous example of how using pseudo-scientific babble can confuse people. Other comments are correct - every sentence is incorrect. None more so than the one beginning "how homeopathy works..." because it is clearly a placebo and has been shown over and over again to have no effect beyond this
welshhippo1 5 months ago
Actually, familiarity with chemistry, or physics, or biology, will prevent you from understanding this lecture. No, you cannot disregard the M (mass) from E=MC^2.
C squared (speed of light squared) is always exactly the same number. No Mass, no Energy. Mass is not measured by volume, minus all the empty space between electrons and the atomic nucleus. The universe, minus the empty space, would not be the size of a basketball. Otherwise, her remaining points (none) are quite valid. Very pretty.

There is acutally no "solid matter" in the universe. Even the nucleus of an atom is just energy
warner735 5 months ago
I... I don't even...
jonjonjonmw3 5 months ago
This woman is getting "mass" confused with "matter". Mass is a measure of matter's resistance to acceleration.
Also, neutron stars are examples of matter crushed down so far as to squeeze out all the space within and between atoms and they're bigger than a bowling ball.
Also, Stephen HAWKING (no s at the end) didn't "give us string theory". Others worked on it long before him.

"So, if you take that formula, E = m c squared, you can almost cross out mass! So the formula ends up being energy equals the speed of light." Haha! I can't stop laughing at how incredibly stupid this woman's arguments are.

Disgusting. These people should be in prison.
electrons, protons, and neutrons indeed have mass. It's Hawking, not Hawkings. And just because the amount of mass in the universe (according to her) is relatively small compared to the amount of radiation that does not mean that it is insignificant to us. Also the vibrations theorized with string theory I would imagine are orders of magnitude off of the vibrations we can hear with our ears, and hardly effected by smacking some water on a table.

agent4844 7 months ago
I literally cried while watching this. Less than 2 minutes in, I started crying. The sheer stupidity of this woman, I wonder if she's even taken high school physics. Einstein must be rolling in his grave right now. First of all E=mc^2 not E=mc like she said. Also she clearly has no idea how the formula even works. She says that all the mass in the universe is not much. But in comparison to what? E in joules is based on m in kilograms, and there are many many many kilgrams of mass in the universe
