  • Very nice flow.. smooth, fluid and above all, relaxed. Thumbs up on the demonstration.

  • a good one! just a tiny mistakes thou, it should be "pukulan kilat" rather than "kilat pukulan"

  • Thats my Guru

  • your flow is as natural as breathing

  • @twotetah thank you

  • Muy buenas conbinaciones de técncias de codos. Realmente se aprende mucho del Silat indonesio

  • Great drill will have to implement something like this. Is this a formal drill of your silat or something you just decided to do? Doesnt really matter just curious.

  • Excellent demonstration of the beauty and flow of this art. I am a kuntao silat practicioner and it is great to see the science demonstrated in the flow of your strikes.

  • this is what silat is all about.close quarters...

  • @szepaklok4523 hi its all flow there is no pattern. Once you know the jurus of Sera or Cimande you can flow with the hands

  • soft, paunchy suburbanites.

  • yes great ... like win chung IP Man

  • basically it's similiar to wingchun. very nice video

  • Very Cina to me.

    Looks Chinese to me.

It resembles the Chinese Praying Mantis Hand Drills and a more neo-Modern Wing Chun hand forms ( CHI SAO / SAU ) Drills.

  • SALAM-O-LEKUM! GURU SANTIAGO DOBLES ! :)

  • good work... u guys trained well :)

  • Cool. This would work well with wing chun and tai chi chuan.

  • close combat... nice

  • whoala! i like it very much.

  • This was awesome.

  • @amrakanavrin thanks!

  • i'm not very sure whether SILAT basicaly is from "Wing Chun" martial art , chinese martial art combine with local malay martial art become SILAT

  • @lcb8888 there is a lot of Muslim, Chinese, & Hindu Influence in Pencak Silat. So its hard to say what exactly it is 100% of. However silat is very effective and has been around for a VERY long time. peace

  • soo many motions! where does a novice start?

  • Superb application details! Smooth flow, relentless pukulan

    Thanks for sharing

  • @Tyjobuou812 thanks bro salams

  • Thanks for the reminder. I enjoyed this

  • very good art...

  • EXCELENTE CLASE, GRACIAS por este video.

    SALUDOS desde Argentina.

  • @tansao1 thanks

  • effective......u took core of silat.....nice....my suggestion u should take inner power...to make ur fight more deadly....see merpati putih

  • @kimantebable thanks salams to you. We train Tenaga Dalam from Cimande Yes it does ad a formidable amount of energy and power and makes things much more intense, Thanks for your post wsalams.

  • Silat is good but I studied TKD(I'm a 1st bb degree with 2 stripes) and one of my buddies has studied Penchak Silat for 12 yrs now. I also studied some Jiu Jitsu and Tai Chi but the one martial arts form I wish I could train in would be JKD.

  • i love the video and the way they are working. A lot inspiration. Thanks for sharing it .

  • Great work here guys. Really good flow - can clearly see the influence of both systems :-)

    Good job!

  • tae kwondo kung fu karate silat

which one that the hardest to learn?

    sori 4 my english

  • Go learn Silat.

  • any of them are hard to learn and live. You need time to learn, time to understand, time to live and time to express yourself and feel your art form.

  • it will be silat...n it is the deadliest among the other three

  • your use of Allan Holdsworth put a smile on my day. Thank you :)

  • this is why I love the southeast martial arts...a simple flow drill no pattern and within it are a dozen devastating moves...a novice could become a competent fighter in a year by simply practicing this with a partner..I know this personally as I have played around with my girlfriend with drills such as these when she asked and she has become quite skilled..she took capoeira for fun and wanted something to go in close quarters and I am amazed at her progress..gotta love it

  • great vids

  • Southeast Asian martial arts are generally simple, quite (but not very) easy to master yet effective all at once. Silat moves are natural; they don't force the practitioner to fight their body mechanics. Instead, they are carefully thought of to make good use of natural body mechanics.

And good vid, by the way.

  • WAW Silat CImANDE MEdunia...

saya sebagai orang BOGOR turut bangga...

    hahaha

  • two guys who are not competitive with each other and pratice this hand drill can accomplish alot in just a few months

  • this looks like wing tsun

  • Most silat are does....especially the kali arts

  • yes looks like wing chun..all da hand movements...non stop!!! every lock broken.every punch taken, evry counter attack balanced.....

  • hey , wat name of this silat .

  • Salam. =)

  • ayuh pelajari teknik bunuh iblis, syaitan, jin bunian dan sekutu2nya.

  • Could you please translate this? Thanks Salams

  • cimande pun ada chi sau? wah, goju ryu ada chi sau, arnis ada chi sau...

  • Excellent and I am proud to see silat being done so fluently and recieved so positively...keep up the excellent work..and by chance if anyone reads this i am looking for a silat school in pensacola Fl since I am relocating there soon..any info would be greatly appreciated

  • Thanks!

  • mcm kungfu pun ade

  • pencak silaaaaat....... goooooo!

  • Good practice demo there guys. I'm proud of you. The movement is definitely 'silat'. One can learn silat technique, but the unique movement and flow and hand swing MUST be identifiably "Silat".

    Excellent practice there. Stay safe!

  • Many thanks : )

  • haha this pencak silat is from my village in indonesia. great moved u got there guru..

  • Thank you

  • like wing chun, cekak & gayang lima...

  • exactly what i was gonna say, im icthing to learn silat ive been studyin wing chun for too long, way too manyu flaws in the system, saw sum pencak silat guys fight the other day and its the truth!!

  • What A Great Demonstration!!!!! Thanks.....

  • I like what youre doing, although i didnt see the applications that you was doing as a flow drill, see Tk.Nelson he demonstrates perfect Panantukan Silat.

  • this is not Panatukan it is Cimande from Java.

  • Very similar to panantukan however. Not that I know anything but it sure looks similar to me :)

  • Reminds me a lot of Wing Chun at the chum kiu level.

  • gooo indonesiaan matrial artttt!!!

  • in reality, speed and power of these strikes will overwhelm your thought process, at the demo speed of this video it is very easy for us to come up with counters but to be at the receiving end of those blows Im sure you will find yourself short of any kind of thought process, at least until the dust settles and you wake up on the floor minutes after the fight.

  • this is very true. Thanks for the insight,

    S

  • thats where practice comes into play. If you are deligent you can make use of what you learn dear friend. People dont be good martial artist just by a bit of training. you can do that in boxing but not in many martial arts. Training is important. Only then you can 'react' without having to think.

  • @braidedpink in reality, these drills are used to develop not only sensitivity, but to cause natural creative reaction. What you practice slow can and does speed up. You will not be able to think your way through a fight usually, but if you've practiced and developed natural reactions you are better prepared. Memory, speaking and any movement gets better and more natural with practice.

  • Looks like the real thing to me. Nice display of percise range orientation and flow.

  • Thanks!

  • Nice outside style! In my opinion though, this leaves the backhand of the aggressor free to land a blow

  • 99.99 percent of the time, when a fight is that close it becomes a wrestling WAR. Waste of time Drills.

  • If you do not have the sensitivity to redirect nor the ability to strike at any range you can be "Toast". Silat is about Survival not fighting. We also study grappling. But truth is in the street you will get hit stabbed or shot before you even grapple. So you need to develop all ranges. And tactics for all forms of attacks.

  • Yup,

This is how we create the 'glue' in technical form. It's always something that is brought up in every class. If a person learns a flow-drill (any type) they start by learning it slowly. With time, as they get closer to 'at-speed' movements that certainly can play a role in fighting. One thing is certain however, if you don't practice it- you won't get it!!! Respects to silatyogi

  • thanks !

  • correct

  • How can you grapple if you have been knocked out?

  • Salaam brother Santi..good work akhi..good work!

  • thanks brother

  • Great work! (Kung Fu!)

  • briliant!

  • These are very, very excellent close range drills. Anything that improves your movements are worth knowing. I will NOT be surprised if more people adopt this drill regardless of what martial arts style they do, I definitely will. 5 stars.

  • Its just any movements done slow in a count of 3. So your partner counters your 3rd motion with his 1 and then you counter his 3rd with your 1 etc. The idea is to use rotation of center (Gelek), angles, economy of motion etc. You can then just "Let Go" and flow motions back and forth using basic root motions from jurus or pukulan. Thanks Guru Maul, Glad you enjoy. Bets wishes to you.

  • Yes indeed Great Silat.

  • Thanks

  • Awesome silat.

  • THANKS!

  • do you use all the jurus, or just concentrate to drill one?

  • No more hair?

  • No more I just actually shaved more off today, I may even go shorter.

  • Flowing....

  • Trying to my friend its always a work in progress. When you gonna start training?

  • not sure, definetly want to!

  • TRAIN!

  • PLANES AND AUTOMOBILES!
