  • I prefer dry pasta

  • i made my pasta today with traditional method (add olive oil and salt in the flour, let the dough rests at least 30min, when the pasta is done, let it rests 3 hours). But the jamie did it without those!

  • @Jmooki well.... you gotta clean all that stuff you used to make it and youd problably do it at a slower pace than him if its your first time and you need to invest in a pasta roller. once you get a dishwasher, experience, and a pasta roller, yes, it is faster :P

    Yes you can, the dough you make for Ravioli or Tortelini is exactly the same as wth Tagliatelle, Spaghetti and Lasagne.

  • @vroni1313 because olive oil affect the carrier proteins that transport lipids within your system, by decreasing LDL(low density limboprotein) and increasing HDL(high density limboprotein), they will lower the amount of cholestrol in your bloodstream. Simular to Omega-3, so olive oil is better than the other cooking oil out there...

  • Egg pasta has to rest at least 30 to 40 minutes before been worked (machines are OK for beginners, sooner or later you should learn the art of rolling pin, Jamie). Most important, after being cut, the tagliatelle, the fettuccine, the pappardelle have to dry out a bit otherwise they will cook into a muddy flourish water and taste awful.

  • @iononcentro he explains all those details in his web site, plus, he is trying to show you how things are done "home made style" with very little timing... we, the viewers, are not that stupid not to realize he's skipping a few steps.

    He is amazing, ... makes people want to cook instead of defrosting.!!!

  • @CmKota What I said was exactly for people who defrost food. If I wanted to drive my comments to the viewers, those who are not stupid, I would have pointed out that if you add olive oil on top of fontina and parmesan cheese sauce in Italy, you get arrested ^___^. Then, I like Jamie and I think he's doing a great job especially with his audience who has grown up with fish & chips or McDonald fastfood.

  • @Cannafish um,no. they say what sounds almost like "pesta" in the UK, which sounds almost like a thick Long Island or New Jersey accent. Whereas Italians say "pah-stah" (I'm also half Italian and know Italians straight from Italia)

  • what is healthy for you? i don't know why you keep saying this recipes are too fat or too oily. come on. he's always cooking for more than just 1 person and using fresh things. people tend to go to limits when saying they eat healthy. healthy isn't just a small salad.
