  • @vorkev1 Hey insulting youtube commenter, I was not using a booster and the antenna is a direction panel antenna and in no way favors wifi antennas as they are usually in a box if they are square.

  • @vorkev1 haha no I am being sarcastic. You really passed high school?

  • If the signal is that strong with sucha "wide" antenna then you dont need any compass ..

  • My whole family died doing this! And my house got destroyed in the process, GODDAMN YOU FOREST GUMP!

  • @SuperStevensShow That is so sad. Who is gonna powder your bottom now?

  • wow what the fuk is wrong with this red neck!!

  • forest gump givin us advice on TV signals....wow.

  • 1) it would be easier if you check out on google earth to know where to point your antenna out.

    2) incredible you have nearly 100% signal and i can't believe CBS still broadcast 4x3 shows even after the analogic broadcasting shut down!

  • What model is that antenna?

  • @dieselplow I have no idea.

  • @dieselplow It looks like a DB8

  • yeee haaa

  • And while you're up here, you could clean your gutters out. lol

  • hello young man have you considered having your haircut by a professional?

I think its time you moved on from your formative years and take this next step.

  • how did the gutter get mashed up? huh?

  • @bradmacaboy

    Leaning a ladder on it.

  • I look at the antennaweb map, walk around to find a landmark in the same direction like a light pole or a tree, then get on the roof and aim the antenna to there.

  • @johnlvs2run You do it by degrees on the compass.

  • Lt. Dan got New Legs!!

  • @WHATyouCANTbe lmao

  • 00:44 Forest!! I just had to say that. Uhhh Somthin' jumped up and bit Me!

  • Nice HDTV.

  • @isselman2000 LMAO

  • Damn good job man!!!!

  • I hope that antenna is grounded, it looks like an unsafe installation as it is.

  • Do you have one-nah deeze dangs on yore Vee-hick-el tooo? :-) Nice job.

  • My dad died doing this and I'm holding you responsible.

  • @discovirgin was he using his Compus

  • pa-lease..... That is nothing to joke about.

  • @discovirgin did he really?

  • @discovirgin i hate those comments

  • that should be antennaweb . org

  • I used the map on antenna. org, walked around the neighborhood to find a street pole lined up in the same direction, went on the roof and aimed the antenna at the pole. 19 stations.

  • I may be wrong but isnt the side with the wiskers, the side you want to point in the direction of the signal ?

  • Yeah, hold that compass right next to the mast...

"Why does the needle always point at the mast?"

  • Those numbers you got off the web site are known as azimuth.

I knew a redneck in Crossville, Tenn. who lived in a trailer in the mountains. His antenna pointing system was a yagi on a 50' mast attached to his porch and a pair of vice grips to rotate it. The channels were marked on the 2x4 the mast was attached to so you knew the station and where to aim.

    It worked.

  • @alwaysopen That's what we did when I was a kid, it was at our front door. I was really hard to turn in the Iowa Winter's.

  • @alwaysopen I'm a city girl, but I've always admired redneck ingenuity. Git r' done, baby. Works for me. lol

  • Whats really holding your mast in place? It looks to me like its just stuck in your chimney and held with some string. The first windy storm you get that antenna will be spinning around. You should get a proper chimney mount.

  • cool video

  • That antenna is not omnidirectional, it has a reflector.

  • If you remove the reflectors it becomes very much bidirectional. I designed and built several versions of antennas along the lines of the commercially made coatwire variety and then bought a Hoverman model for $45 that kicks ass. 30+ channels and perfect HD.

  • nice, i have that same antenna; the db8, which is suppose to be omnidirectional but could not get a signal i'll try the site and compass settings
