Psychopaths are born with temperamental differences that make them very hard to integrate into society while sociopaths are born with relatively normal temperaments but are the product of unstable or violent environments and often unfit parents (Diane's father was a martinet who felt that kids should buck up or shut up).

If you read her discipline record in jail, you'll see that she escaped once, tried several times to escape again, and two months after arriving in jail, tried to sell start up a drug ring. I read her book, and she refers to her children as "the children" and "the baby" and "the daughters" as if they are just objects. At one point when she arrives at the hospital (literally 30 minutes after she was supposedly attacked), she asks a detective "is my car okay." A true sociopath!

@karmalevel I understand your viewpoint. Actually, Diane might be a sociopath rather than a psychopath; sociopaths are generally made while psychopaths are born. Psychopaths are born with temperamental differences that make them very hard to integrate into society while sociopaths are born with relatively normal temperaments but are the product of unstable or violent environments and often unfit parents (Diane's father was a martinet who felt that kids should buck up or shut up).
