John c. Reilly, the guy whose singing,is an incredibly famous actor and he's done a lot of musicals such as Chicago and Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. He didn't write the song.
And I'm bemused by all the sodden innuendo being omitted in those notes over there. My jolly band of wenches was fond of this added verse:

This is probably far more authentic, but I do retain a fierce fondness for the catalepsy induced by the Oak, Ash & Thorn version.
