  • is there a part 2 to this ? if so please link me

  • im confused. that last clip, the black and white one, looks really old but that looks like helen mirren is playing elizabeth-but wouldnt she be too young or non existant at that time?(im guessing the movie was made in the early 1950s id says)

  • hmmm... this isnt drake at all...

  • Cate Blanchett will always be my favourite Elizabeth I

  • anne the homewrecker.

  • the video is good, but i have no idea which clip is which actress,lol-the info would be useful

  • It's funny how in the old days kings allways wanted sons to rule and most did but then again Elizabeth I lead England into an golden age, i don't recall any male's doing that. for the record im a male.

  • @TheIcelandicPatriot There were a few good kings that England had. In fact, I suspect Elizabeth might get some of her temperament from her grandfather, Henry VII. It was Henry Tudor who brought stability at last to Britain after the War of the Roses. It was Henry who brought 2 houses wrought asunder together by marrying Elizabeth of York, and (unusual for the times) he seems to have genuinely loved her and wasn't interested in mistresses. he wasn't too good on foreign policy, (cont)

  • @TheIcelandicPatriot but it is arguable that the tide of history was against him: by then, France as a country had begun to coalesce and congeal so the only thing left was to cosy up to Isabella and Ferdinand.

Also, Edward I. A great warrior abroad and at home, good. Here was a man who adored his wife. He used to make his chambermaids pay ransom to get him out of bed so he could spend the weeks after Lent with his Eleanor. Lord knows he was wild for her: pregnant 16 times!!

  • @shadowkitty56 Naturally there have allsoe been good kings but anyone who is equal or better then Elizabeth?

    That will be diffucult.

  • It pisses me off when I watch dramas like The Tudors that completely exaggerates everything. Henry was probably not that worried about his first child. He was probably disappointed, but not terribly so because many royals had sons after they had a daughter. Anne was probably more remorseful than Henry, although she turned out to be a dedicated mother.

  • Am I the only one that thinks the word "SUCKER" was stamped on Henry VIIIs head for expecting a boy only to have a girl & not a just a girl but a girl who became his one true heir instead of sickly Edward

  • The sexism in those days WAS really disgusting. At least they spoke eloquently.

  • haha, man shouldve known that they decide the gender and not the woman.

they would kick themselfs in the back of the heads if they knew. lol

  • @CrescentMoonish I know right, its the sperm that creates males not anything else.

  • At 4:30 she really sounds like her mother

  • i think Cate Blanchette played the best Elizabeth.

  • The sexism in those days were really disgusting.

  • @TCall2004

    -progress my friend, progress.

  • @TCall2004 women need to know there place dirty sluts

  • Which movie is 7:22-until the end? i think this is perhaps the best portrayal of Elizabeth I've seen yet.

  • ''The Queen is dead, long live the Queen!!'' LOL!!!!'

  • @huwwilson651

laugh out loud/ or loyal orange lodge, lol............ Im sure someone will appreciate that.

  • @huwwilson651 "This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes" Elizabeth

  • I love the music at 3:25.

  • Does anyone happen to know what movie or documentary that was - when Elizabeth was walking in that very green place with the pond - during that clip...?

  • David Starkey's Elizabeth I series. It's available on DVD through Amazon or places that carry historical material.

  • hahaha I love that line "You & I are both young,by gods grace, boys will follow" hahaha he looks like a jackass for saying that

  • @liz2saintvideos King Henry, was a jackass

  • My favorite Elizabeths have to be Cate Blanchett and Helen Mirren.

  • Me, too! I also liked how Bette Davis portrayed her -- she looked so much like the Queen did in that "Spanish Armada" portrait.

  • Glenda Jackson.

    And Dame Flora Robson.

  • I don't believe Kings of England were called "Your Majesty" until the 17th century. Prior to that, it was always "Your Grace". I think it is awful when historical films, even historical fiction, make no effort to be historically accurate.

  • Actually, Henry VIII was the first to be called "Your Majesty." The films do have it right.

  • Are you sure you're right? If so, many thanks for that piece of information! I love historical accuracy.
