I love this song, whatever is said Jello is the master in my eyes. I listened to this when I was 13 and I am now the well paid scientist and when I chew well, my kids taste just like me, so I just slam the door... Never underestimate peoples ability to blame each other or take credit. That is one thing I have learnt....
What is this song about ? Is there a "man with the dogs" archetype against which he's railing ? I don't have a dog but I don't mind people with dogs ? What a paranoid song !
If the Dead Kennedys sang about current events, I bet it would be amazing. Except the whole band is what Jello was totally against toward the breakup.
There's a lot of things goin on right now with current events and stuff that a an artist like Jello Biafra would write about. Like the Iraq War, Bush before, Obama, the market crashing, stuff like that.
@Mrvort I just wish they would all just shut the fuck up to be honest. I looked up some stuff about the case and it appears Jello was ripping them off, Levi's commercial or anything like that aside. It just saddens me that their songs have such a good, uplifting message and yet they have to fucking bicker and point fingers like children in court.
@Taktwo2 The Levi's commercial story was a lie, and was proven so in court. Jello made it up to distract public attention from the heart of the case, which was the fact that he was attempting to assume almost dictatorial control over the band's earnings and individual input.
The entire problem was Jellos bandmates became complete hypocrites who abandoned the original message of their work, in the process betrayed the very people who respected them the most - their fanbase.
Actually, Jello wasn't ripping them off intentionally, it was an accounting mistake and I'm pretty sure that both parties (to be technical) acknoleged this. The feud is really because non-Jello DK are advertising themselves as DK, which they could never truly be w/o Jello, and playing all the songs that Jello wrote, and selling their songs left and right apparently.
@Mrvort its way more then that ... i talked to dh in 99 when he was playing in the social chaos tour... i forgot the details he said about it but jello was a dick and did some shit that the rest of the band didnt appreciate along with a lot of other stuff... jello was taking credit for stuff he didnt write along with a list of things.. you know Frankenchrist dh written that, it was his album... also my fav..
@FiLiPiNoKiD716 heh, the sad part is that they are. Sure the names and places change, but we're no further as a society than we were then. Human kind will forever be doomed to endless cycles whether we like or believe it or not. Sure we'll win small battles, like the abolition of slavery and the slow gain of tolerance towards black people but still we'll never win the war against hatred of the "others". Our current battle is gay rights, and it's just the same story with a different face.
@FiLiPiNoKiD716 they do sing about current events. history ALWAYS repeats itself. Afghanistan lyrics in 'We've got a bigger problem now', every song about corporate greed, saturday night holocaust they're all still relevant. This could be anywhere indeed
Jello currently has a new band called, "Jello Biafra and the Guantanamo School of Medicine". Personally I don't think it as good as DK, but it is nice just to hear him do something else other then a collaboration or spoken word.
for some reason, i want to start a moshpit whenever i hear this song

@Taktwo2 They sued Jello for the song rights because he wouldn't use Holiday in Cambodia in a Levi's Jeans commercial.
Apparently they didn't stop there.
