Ah!, this is the version I was known to dig, so much so that I picked up on the single. Backwhen this song was top 40, i hadn't seen a beach yet, not that i can remember. The first time i saw a beach, was after I graduated in '65 and was able to drive there...i do not remember my first real take on a beach here in Vancouver Canada, where we are blessed too have more beaches and lakesides than meet the eye. Kitsilano is a popular beach if you want to look at girls over lifequards. Thx4 postin

I listened to Andrea's version and I still think Diane's is SO much better plus hers made the Billboard Chart. Wish she had more singles out there. However, a lot of times it's what version you hear 1st.
