  • can this one handle two XFX Radeon HD 6870?

  • @TOJxKiLLSTeaLeR I'd say so. Remember! it's about quality, no just impressive numbers when it comes to choosing the right PSU. Don't make the mistake i did by buying a cheapo PSU (listed as 700W) only to find out your system starts crashing when you add a second card. I later found out the amperage was shit, which was something I wasn't even looking for at the time of buying. since I installed this I've had no problems (2 x HD5770, Phenom II x4 965), and it looks good too.

  • @nookie077 thanks for the tip :D

  • well is this 80 Plus silver or bronze?

  • @msi48701gb Silver.

  • I've got on of these and the only gripe I have is that it has several LONG sata power leads. I'd have liked to have at least one short one, like with 2 plugs.

  • what PSU would you recommend for a rig with i7-2600K Boxed fan, 6 fans, 2 EVGA GTX 560ti SuperClocked, 1 60GB SSD, 1TB HDD, 8GB Ram (2x4GB)?

  • @DevilishJ I would recommend a 1000 watt plus for that rig in my opinion, just to be on the safe side.

  • @RamaZamable actually upon some research i've learned that 750W will do the job just fine, 1000W would be a bit overkill

  • '...Hi I'm Rodney Reynolds...'

    Coolest Guy Alive.

  • Will this be enough for i5 sandybridge overclocked, 2 hd6970s in crossfire, maybe 4 case fans, 8gb RAM?

  • Good review :^p

  • i want buy this but i scare it no work on my pc , i have 280 watt and need more 500 watt to put GTX 460 pfff :(

  • @peiboOooo The gtx460 load with 300watt+ So you need 700watt to be safe.

  • @PirateKing1256

and its eazy to put 700 watt ? i mean its work on all pc's ?

  • @peiboOooo yes.

  • @peiboOooo its like putting any power supply :D yes it does work on all pc's

  • Would this work with this settup:

    Crossfire HD6850 or Crossfire HD6870, Intel Core2 Quad Q9550 2.83 GHz, 6GB DDR3 1333 MHz, 1TB HDD, Intel DP45SG Motherboard;

If I dont choose the 2x HD6850 or 2x HD6870 setup, would the power supply be able to power a single GTX580.

  • @TheKuku09 that should work

  • Nice, i just bought the 1000W version from canadacomputers today.

  • coolermaster psu's suck mine started to rattle after 6 months, its a piece of shit

  • I dont want to risk buying a 600watt power suply. Im using a AMD Phenom II x4, Sapphire HD6850 4gbs of ram , 500gb hardrive. Will i need more than 600 watts?

  • @MisterNyaah No

  • @MisterNyaah You'll be fine. 600 should be more than enough for that.

  • @MisterNyaah If the 6850 is 500w recommended, u should get 700w. Almost no price difference anyways :D

  • zijn alle voedingen van coolermaster zo

  • @MultiW8 Nee maar dit is een van de ''goede merken''

  • nicely done!

  • I have a 5850 and want to add another 5850 with only 1 hdd, athlon ii x4, 1 dvd drive, and ddr3 4gb 1600 ram. Will this PSU be enough? I think so but it only has 2 x 6 pins which 5850's need 2 pins a peice (150 watts) and i have 2 adapters but is it a good idea or should I go for like a 750w corsair or xfx 650w?

  • can i run 2x amd 6870 in crossfire with this power supply?

  • @casualiis yeah, its enough.

  • I like how he said have a listen and turn it on with zero noise.

  • bought it today. getting it delivered by tomorrow.

    Just awsome. can't wait

  • It supports SLI , must get.

  • I just bought this! Can't wait to put together my new system. Thanks for review.

  • Will this be able to handle 2 gtx 460s?

  • @crazedimp321 you might want a 800W atleast for that setup

  • @PaperWeight231

and why would he want 800W if total system power would peak at 450W?

  • @Noisiiv because my face has an indent...

  • Can I run a 2 X GTX460 SLI setup with this power supply?

A GTX460 needs 2 8pin PCIe connections, and someone told me that this power supply only has two, making it impossible to run SLI GTX460's because that would need 4. Looking for a second opinion here.

  • @catsefrats I think you can't run SLI. It only has 2 PCI-E connectors. If you want to go SLI buy a XFX 750 watt or 850 watt.

  • @catsefrats

no your wrong ,a GTX 460 needs 2x 6 pin connectors

so you can run SLI with this and a gtx 460

even if the power supply doesnt have enough connectors .

the GTX 460 has an extra adapter wire ,which will allow to connect the 6 pin to a 12 molex .

    so dont worry about that.

i would more worry about the wattage .

    i would suggest getting a 850 w atleast

a nexus RX 850 would be the best choise for you,it has more pcI-e connectors and more power.

  • @ImmortalUniverse

    Dude.

    It's comma, then space.

    Jesus.

  • @HowToDs

    jesus doesnt exist.

  • Comment removed

  • @catsefrats

i want to start with 2 GTX 460 OC in SLI too.

problem is, you need atleast 850 watt

so it would be a good idea to get the Cooler Master Silent Pro 850w power supply .

because the silent pro has lots of 6+2 pin PCI-E.

BUT if you later wanna upgrade to a a heavyer card, like the GTX 480 and run SLI

ill bet youll need a 1000w

and the new GTX 580 is comming

big change it needs 2x 8 pin power .

so i think the silent pro 1000 watt ia gonna be my new PSU..

  • Coolermaster Silent Pro 700 Watt + EVGA GTS 450 + Coolermaster HAF 912 =

    Pure AWESOMENESS

  • yes

  • could you put a power supply in a computer you have already bought?

  • @pwner1734 Duh, you didn't seriously just ask that question?

    Yes, you can..

  • @pwner1734 DERRR

  • will this psu be enough for two 5830 video cards and a hexacore amd?

  • @Akyy09 5830 at full load is about 359 Watt, 2 x 359 = 718 Watt

Plus hexacore (around the 140 Watt)

    Get a 850 or 900

  • @KodessR I couple of 5830s would not draw anywhere near 700 watts. A single 5830 draws 175 watts MAX. You could probably run crossfire with 2 5830s with a 600 watt power supply

  • @wootlanter thats only systemdraw, I measure the power input at the AC source, and I mean seriously full load, check legion hardware's 5830 review

  • @KodessR I see. You obviously understand more about electronics than I do. I had read that the 4870 was a 150 watts max card (this must be system draw too). Can I ask, what would you estimate is the power input at the AC source for this particular card?

  • @wootlanter at idle I think 150 is correct, if you are going to stress it with for example crysis it would be happy with 290 Watts or so.

Video cards can use alot of power but will usually work with less aswell, only there lifetime reduces a bit.

  • Thanks your reviews always help!

  • is this better than corsair HX650 ??

  • @maxnanabas09 hx 650 is more reliable imo since corsair got better reputation in psu industry,)

  • yup maybe i should get the HX650 because its 80+ bronze while this is only 80+ certified

  • Asus PC probe II tells me this.

    3.3v = 3.3v

    5v = 4.9v

    12v = 12.36v

    i guess thats about fine.

  • @hille32 12.36v? thats not okay m8,)

  • the CM Silent Pro M 500W , 600W and 700W series has only (4) 4pin Molex Connectors and only (2) PCI-E 6Pin connectors

If you wan higher Wattage , theres the 850W or 1000W PSU , these has (5) 4pin Molex Connectors and (6) PCI-E 6Pin Connectors..

  • Not all top end PCs are for gaming, you know. Try rendering.

  • The most are. And the best computers in the world are used by NASA

  • @JasperJasperNL by best computer i dont think they use good gaming PCs.

    lawl

  • 4:43 - 4:48

Only 5 seconds before he interupts the test. Thats bullshit. And why does it sound like the fan is in contact with something? Its making the same sound as you gently put in a pencil in the fan.

  • only 2 6-pin connectors :( suck!

  • my silentpro 850 M has #6 6-2 pin connectors lol

  • I know which is kind of pointless because you cant use 3 gpus with it anyway.

  • Well , those voltages aren't really great .... 3,08v on the 3,3v ?? that simply sucks :(

  • @asfodhell silent pro M 850w is much better look it up

  • How is the 850w version? Looking for a upgrade and modular and that will support my P5ND quad core and a single gtx 260.

  • @mangie222 lol

  • i am thinking of buying cm silent pro but the 600 watt version..

can it power a liquid system,an phenom II 965,

    2 hard drives,a dvd-rw and a 5850 graphic card??

    plz respond asap !

  • @konnos123 u might want to go for a 800/850W

  • thanks !

is there any program that i can monitor the usage of the PSU ??

like how much power it consumpts ?

  • @konnos123 there probably is but tbh i wouldnt know what one.

  • they just made an 850 its fking sweet u guys should check it out, it aso has 6! 6+2 pin pci-e connectors and its modular so its very nice, check it out guys!

  • Is there a 120/240 volt switch on it? I can't see it anywhere. Thanks

  • Ill get the Silent Pro M1000... I really dont have the need of 1000 watt, but it's greate to have some extra =)

  • This can easily run 2x ATI HD5870 I'm getting this psu

  • I ordered this on Newegg for 100 bucks yesterday to replace my old power supply that messed up. I can't wait to see what cable management will look like in my new pc compared to my old non modular power supply.

  • will this be able to power 8 120mm fans, a 230mm, a hd 5850 and a mobo?

  • Yes it can power it fine. I have 4 Radeon HD 5870 in Quad SLI and 4 Hard Drives in RAID Array and 2 Optical Drives...They Work Fine with this !

  • ATI cards don't support SLI

  • i mean Cross Fire...sorry sometimes i interchange Nvidia and ATI terms

  • Nice I was thinking about getting this one for my sister when I upgrade and give her my old PC parts.

  • will a Cooler Master Silent Pro M 700W psu be enough for a ONE GTX 285?

  • omg yes. ittll be enuf for 2 maybe

  • @EBA170

    What?

  • the fan is so quite o.o its like i didnt even buy a psu lol

  • hey will this PSU will be good for crossfire of 2 HD4890s?

  • Yes :) You can even overclock it a bit.

  • naa im not into overclocking :P

  • Would it be enough power to run a QuadCore CPU with two EVGA GTX 275 in SLI?

  • go onto the antec website and use their power calculator to see how many watts you will need.

  • yes Cooler Master Silent Pro 700w it runs in SLI

  • wow.......... that is so quiet. mine is dawn loud. i need to upgrade my pc sound to quiet state then a loud state. i can hear my pc when being on in the next room. that is how loud it is.

  • does this fit in the Cooler MAster Haf 932

(im not so good at computers)

  • yes it will fit

  • god damn thats quiet! Mine sounds like a friggen blender on my desk!

  • Will it blend? that is the question

  • lol. I love those vids

  • is this energy supply almost the same as the coolermaster real power m700 modular PSU ???

  • really 100 %kickass :)

  • if i were to sli 2 9800 gt's with a core 2 duo would this or any 700 watter do the job? if not whats a good way to go what psu's are sli ok that are pretty cheap?

  • bought one.

  • Im think I will get the 500 watt version of this. It seems like a very good one

  • Hi

Have you bought this unit yet? - thinking of buying it - are you satisfied with your unit?

  • Yes, but I ended up getting the 600W model because the 500 one didnt have enough amps on the 12V rail.

I am VERY satisfied with it. You should get it

  • What about the noise? - i've read that it is really silent, but in this vid, it has a a rather loud brum noice - what about irl?

    Thx for the reply!

  • It is very quiet, just like it is supposed to be. Probably the most quiet fan in my computer.

  • Just bought this power supply. Thanks for the review Rodney.

  • I need to know if the Cooler Master Silent Pro M 700W PSU is good for my new setup:

    Asus P5Q Deluxe

    Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550

    BFG GeForce GTX295

    OCZ 8GB Reaper HPC 1066MHz

I NEED AN ANSWER ASAP!!! please Reply

  • for that system i'd reccomend an 800watt cooler

  • I would go up to around 800w just to be safe as the minimum for the 295 is 660 watts. Yeah also the +12v rail is only 50Amps while the 295 needs 46 that's just a little too close.

  • EDIT: nVidia GeForce 9800 GTX. :)

  • Question.

I'm planning on getting Quattro 1000 WATT PSU.

But I want to know if it is too much and if it will damage a setup of EVGA nVidia nForce 780i SLI and EVGA nVidia GeForce GTX. If it is too much, any suggestions? or the 700 WATT Quattro?

  • where can i get this PSU? newegg doesnt have it, neither tigerdirect

  • same question where can you buy this psu in the states?

  • its not true. you need only 650watt for a high end pc

  • already answered

  • will a 750w psu be enough for 2 gtx 280's?

  • You're out of luck with 3DGameMan. Please visit the Nvidia site or PSU manufacturer sites or search for real reviews on the internet. Unfortunately, 3DGameMan is good at "describing" products. He doesn't do real testing. In the case of this PSU, he used Asus Probe. Sorry, Rodney, grandma can use Asus Probe. But he did point out the PSU has a "switch" on the back. Wow.

  • i dont want tests. i can go on other websites. these videos are just what i want to know about the product

  • No problem at all. I would visit other websites. NVidia recommends a minimum of 850W. At peak, an SLI 280GTX setup sucks a "lot" of juice. I've seen some guys with 620W to 750W, even 850W, rigs crap out and die, not a pretty sight.

  • Good Rodney keep the HD going. i cant really find much videos that are HD and with your quality yet alone about computer.

  • the HD looks amazing!

  • YES! rodney now doing HD.

  • Ok Tank You

  • lol. Great review. The Ventrilo Harassment reviews are great too.

  • yes thay meke me rofl

  • Go with a 750 watt pc power and cooling silencer if you want the best mid range power supply. PC power and cooling make the best power supplies in my opinion.

  • Can I run two GTX 280 in SLI with my 750 watt Thermaltake toughpower ?

    Current system specs :

    Asus P5E3 Premium

    Q9450 2.66 GhZ

    Thermaltake Toughpower 750 watt

    BFG GTX 260 OC

    4 Gb DDR3 1333 MhZ

    (3X) Seagate 500 Gb

Antec 900 with all optionnal fans (total of 5)

  • yes ofc but its better if you buy 850w

  • You have some GREAT PSU reviews,,, but more time to hear the noise, (If any), please. Thanking You:

  • Love the fact that if you upload in HD (1280x720) it comes out in a big, suitable player!

  • Okay, the über-bigscreen is AWSOME!!!

  • woot hd wins

  • WOAH, HD the viewing place just expanded lol, awesome.

  • 4.3 GHZ overclock on that CoreDuo? Dayum..

  • need some advice on cooling, my cpu is hitting 51c and my motherboard about 43c on idle. the cpu fan is gettin to about 4500-5000 rpm. its really quite loud. its a stock cooler. should this be happening or is the heat sink and fan useless. on load the cpu gets to about 57c.

    my specs

Amd 9950be 2.6ghz with stock heat sink and fan

    8gb 6400 ddr2

    HD4870 1gb

    Asus M3A32-MVP Deluxe/Wi-Fi AMD 790FX

  • never use stock cooling if your worried about temps, always use after-market cooling 51 at idle is a little high

  • Stock cooling fan are uber usless.

  • canyou have 2 PSU's?

  • it depends entirely on your case

  • Yes but seriously , nobody use 2 PSU unless their case have too much space.

  • well yea my case has a LOT of space

  • great quality, impressive indeed.. but it seems a bit bright?

  • Coolermaster has good modular power supplies specially the 850w one.

  • lol hes like waaaaat

  • Very good product.

  • YESS

    1080P VIDEO

  • Stop quarrelling.

If you wanna know high end , low end thingy , look for 12V rail supply of Amps and wattages.

  • Damn, that video was freakin' huge!

  • omg 1st time i saw dis freakin large size of HD video in youtube

  • WHOA UBER HD MUCH?!

  • why do you say that 700W is more than enough for high-end? two 4870X2 in crossfire need almost twice this, at 1200W. I wouldn't use anything less than 1000W for a high-end system, even if it was in a SFF case

  • And you are insane if you have two 4870x2's in crossfire. You have too much money, donate it to charity.

  • High end would be considered something with like 2 9600GT's in SLI, or 2 4830's in CF. Did you even listen to what ranks of PCs he explained in the video?

  • so wrong there it does not need nearly that under load a computer with cf 4870x2s would use about 600w maximum.

  • ATI recommends 650W for one 4870X2. I don't think two of them would use only 600W.

  • Its a reccomendation if you didnt realise what real power consumption is you would find that a common high end system really uses about 400w maximum.

  • Your wattage requirements are ridiculous;)

My server runs 8 hard drives, a q6600 @ 3.5 ghz, 6 gigs of ram on a 450 watt psu. A medium rig runs fine on 350 watts, a highend pc, needs 550, and a crossfire/sli setup needs 650-700

  • what brand is your psu i have a nzxtpp500 4gigs of 800mhz corsair ram and core2duo every where i search says dont run even a single8800gt in it so if 450watt is enough for you will i be ok running a single 8 or 9 series card

  • The point is, do you know how effective the PSU is at that usage of it? You'd be amazed..

I use a Zalman 800 Watt PSU because it is most effective when pulling around 400 Watts from it, making it both silent as well as cool and environmently friendly.

  • Nice review and also your HD video quality is excellent

  • I agree

  • review the new i7 cpus please!!!!

  • wait for phenom ii newb

  • Someone I work with got an i7 this week, i havent seen it yet though.

  • Just look at him...

  • Awesome PSU!

Will you be reviewing the Phenom II processors when they arrive? And if possible can you give an idea as to when we can expect a review? :D Thanks!

    WIN!

  • its not hard when u can buy cpus that start out at over 3ghz...

  • Stop reviewing PSU, Review some Gigabyte EP35,45 who someone actually cares about!

  • I agree, he has done too many power supplys and graphics cards recently. He needs to review some mainboards and CPUs or something. The case reviews are always good though.
