I believe that this is the best version of Sense and Sensibility that I have seen. Unlike the BBC Emma, this one felt perfect.

Having watched both versions again there is no doubt in my mind which has the most impact. Both Hattie Morahan and Dan Stevens have a chemistry that is breathtaking. I also think that Eleanor and Marriane (2008) have much more of a natural loving relationship than Emma Thompson/Kate Winslet. I still love both versions for different reasons though.

I must say I still harbor a preference for the 1995 version, partly because Emma Thompson is magnificent and the screenplay is the best two-hour adaptation I've ever seen of an Austen work. Also, a pre-Titanic Kate Winslet knocked my socks off.

However, Hattie Monahan is brilliant in this version, absolutely radiant, and it also helps that they had the time to adapt it more truthfully to the novel.

kikou106, the difference between this and the other is that the actors are younger and the right age in this movie. In the other one there's just actors you've seen before but in this there's more unknown actors

Beautiful video... I saw first part when I was trying not to hoover. I waited to next part, but i couldn't wait any longer so i've downloaded last part. The only reason, why I wated so quickly reach the end was Elinor&Edward. I've never seen S&S before (i don't like romantic movies - they usually seems stupid to me) and so wanted to see their end... I was almost afraid that there's no happy ending for them

As much as I love Emma Thompson and Hugh Grant, I think that Hattie Morahan and Dan Stevens were meant to be Elinor and Edward, they were so perfect for the roles. Especially Hattie Morahan was unbeliavable, she's so natural and touching. I just absolutely adore them, both actors and characters. Jane Austen is a genius.

So wonderfully presented by Andrew Davis. After watching this version (in 2008 on BBC) of Sense & Sensibility, the previous move acted by Emma T. look almost nothing an halo expression of J. Austen's writting. This version really given a life to the story and well crafted, carefully selected actors with their emotional display... lost for words.

The BBC three-part series was written by Andrew Davies, the man who's adapted the Colin Firth / Jennifer Ehle version of Pride & Prejudice. I prefer this version to the Ang Lee film - as there is more screen time you get more than a film could cover. Highly recommended.

BBC is the best! wonderful adaptation of the book, great actors as usual!

i would have liked them to introduce, though, that funny scene in the book when Mrs Jennings overhears Colonel Brandon and Elinor's discussion about his offering Edward a living, and misunderstantds it, thinking that Colonel Brandon proposes to Elinor :))her discussion with Elinor later, when each talks of different things is funny indeed.
