  • Although SS is not an absolute waste of time, it is as a matter of fact hyped, complicated and difficult to understand. With all the technical terms, strenuous and confusing exercises you just in a clutter and probably even ruin your voice because these exercises are very easy to make mistakes in.

  • 0:45 ahahahah..Keepin the larynx down keepin the jaw down

  • he looks strong because he looks straight at the camera, he's not in your face, he's just engaging.

  • Hi,

    i`m a bariton (bass bariton).

When i do liprolls i reach high c for tenors and one octave higher without problems.

But when i do the mum mum mum and nay nay nay exercise the high c for tenors

is the last note i can reach clean.

    Any advice?

    Regards

    Andy

  • why sometimes my head voice breaks (literally) into a ugly distorted VOCAL FRY?

i am worried about that beacuse it took so much time to learn all this!

  • I think the squirrel comment was pretty douche bagish, I like how he's not at all self conscious and has been really helpful for at least me, lol

  • Argh, it worked. I wanted to prove you wrong!!! WTF

  • Hi there, Excellent Video.

Please guys i`ve been following your tips for quite some time now with AMAZING results. Nevertheless there`s a VITAL problem that hasn`t been addressed or focused enough , and that is DISENGAGE THE DIGASTRIC MUSCLES.

Would you please make a video about your 3 top exercises to this purpose, and also, How frequently should I train on them, and how long would it take for a dedicated student to completely eradicate this terrible problem???

    Huge thanx in advance¡¡¡¡

  • If Frodo was a vocal teacher....

    Haha he's really helpful though

  • Thanks again!

  • why would he give someone huge compliment but preface it with "I'm not gonna say her name but...". I'm sure she wouldn't mind the publicity.

  • his hair was better here though then long

  • I've noticed a huge difference within 10 minutes of watching these 3 videos... THANK YOUUUUU, CHRIS!!

  • Hey guys, I'm a bass guy, I'm very frustrated cause I can't sing anything above E3, well I can but it's really yielling, if I try this can I sing some tenor songs from nowadays pop?, like chris brown, Ne-yo songs?. It's because I can't sing them without changing the pitch :-x

  • everyone should get seth riggs vocal workout cd and apply these exercises to them...i bet it would give some guidelines 2 practise to

  • this guy reminds me of a squirrel.

  • @DudesMclintock480 you guys.. an owl, a squirrel, wear eyes, man give it a rest he looks fine

  • Does this really really work? I have Brett Mannings singing success and started 2004 its now 2009 still cant get it right

  • @Liquadia

    obviously you're not trying

  • @Liquadia not saying brett's tips are WRONG persay, maybe you have just been doing an improper technique all this time

  • @Liquadia it works, but only after 1000 hours...

  • @Liquadia

There is no magic..... You can only learn it by practice and patience. I've got my first mix 3 months watching the tips in youtube but practiced almost everyday. If you still couldn't succeed so far, you may find another way that can suit you most.

  • I found that none of this stuff worked for me at all well some did but! still cant do half of this stuff properly specially C above middle C

  • I had this same problem.. It was because I was yelling for high notes... I had to stop straining for notes for a while even if it meant not singing high notes for a while.. I have videos up of my bad technique then.. But I haven't posted anything new yet. I can hit high C with no problem now, I also bought Mastering Mix.. It is great for strengthening the voice overall and making singing effortless

  • @Liquadia Sometimes you do need a vocal coach to tell you what you're doing wrong. I've been doing this program just for a few days and I've already detected some things that I had been doing wrong previously, but I'm sure that, besides the help from SS, I would largely benefit from going back to classes. It's sometimes very difficult to hear yourself, I would recommend you to record yourself while training.

  • Great stuff!

  • Thanks Chris. I will try this combination with my own students struggling with their mix.

  • Thanks for these tips. I have heard and seen some exercises from you and Brett Manning that I've never come across before in my career!

  • Great stuff! just what I need right now =) Thanks!

  • that's pretty cool i can't wait to try this

  • yeah, it does suond interesting :-)
