It wasn't bad, coming from the girl who's scared of needles, getting her ears ripped, and getting pricked by almost anything. XD

@TheToyChannel Mike i agree with you, this barbie is by far the most appropriate barbie i have seen yet. Even though the ear piercing is a little extreme i still say win im honestly thinking my little sister would love this toy... just as long as she does not use it on herself. :) And i mean the tool could be used to pierce all her dolls ears not just this one, so yea you get the attractive doll, pretty earnings, and a long lasting doll ear piercing tool for what 16.99?? defiantly a worthy toy.

@bootifullolzcat most of the people I've known or seen anyway get their baby's ears pierced because "they're so cute with earrings". As for Claire's I know first hand of many people who have gotten infections even when properly using the after care wash/directions. A professional piercer will have their supplies put in a medical-sterilizing autoclave. You can not take a piercing gun apart to sterilize with an autoclave, and I've seen them "sterilized" with alcohol wipes. piercing studios=good

My niece got this barbie one year...I will say that this toy is NOT for younger children because not only of the choking hazard but because there's only so many earrings you can use before the rest of them get lost/missing. Our "piercing gun" did not have a "needle" on it, it was just a round button that you put the earring on and it pushed it in her ears. We did one side and the the other side we just used a ball point pen...LOL same thing, very easy

It's nice looking but the piercing gun I'd say fail because Barbie has a history of making those things for the kids to use on themselves to...and the kids might do just that without thinking.

@Shinobimon You can't use it on yourself though. I've had it, the earrings aren't strong enough to pierce human skin. Kids can try to use it, but their not going to be able to harm themselves with it. They'll just get poked.

I had one of these dolls as a kid. And it was awesome. You could use the earrings on other Barbies too. The 'piercer' was just a little plunger thing. And the earrings were your typical Barbie-quality plastic. There would have been no way for a kid to pierce their own ears with it unless they got their hands on a sharp piece of metal that was big enough to fit into the plunger. Either way it's a WIN. It was a fun Barbie to add to my collection.

@JnLemmon Heh wow, I sound really angry in my post but I am glad you agree with my point. I personally don't like babies having pierced ears only because they could choke. I don't think it is any one thing that is bad about girls doing things to be pretty but, it is the fact that things like this send the message that outer beauty is the most important thing. That is why we don't have Sholar Ship Barbie. But then again, I had barbies as a little girl too... I suppose it is all about moderation.

I think this is a win. This is one of the only ones out there that I have seen that are likes this and I always wanted my ears pierced at that age so it would have been great for me.
