sorry it took me a while to respond, just got a bit busy this 2012. I used the Bushnell 1200 range finder then verified it with the POV's odometer and the google distance calculator aka daftlogic and the results was within + and - 10 yards.
I think I spoke with you at NVShooters but this is just right across the lake bed. There's a lot of bikers there now that the weather got colder. I should stay away from there for now, or find a different spot around there somewhere.
I used to have that same scope you have with ZS and HS but I didn't like how it adjusts because the adjustments was just too harsh for me and I got used with the MOA :-D The base is a pinned 20 MOA Stiller Precision Firearms.
@koolmike79 Ha, I used to have an MOA/MOA NPR1. I loved it. I only switched because I shoot a lot of team matches and everyone shoots mil/mil. So it was easier for corrections. Great video BTW. I just bought my creedmoor a couple of weeks ago. I've not had time to make any videos with it.
Damn dude! next time call me "FUCK STICK" I like that nickname better! LoL I'm shooting at something far, and If I try to explain to you that you might have a hard time understanding. Not because of my accent, but because you're low life prick and a bag of douche!!! :-D Seriously though, I'm shooting a 1/2" 18"x25" AR500 steel. Check out my 1 mile shot with my 6.5CM...
I have a real modest 2700FPS round and from what have experienced , it barely gets out there. Ballistics FTE shows differently. I am working on a 123gr load that are zipping at around 3100FPS, and these could get out there with no problem... it'll probably reach out to a mile...
I have done hold over with my 7mm mag, and have found that dialing in the range is much more accurate. Im looking to get me a creedmoor or a 6.5-284 norma soon, kinda torn on which to get first?
hmmmm... that dillemma huh? I've through that road way too many times LoL but it's always what you intend to do with it and which one you are most fascinated of...
@koolmike79 I might end up with a dpms AR in creedmoor, and the norma in a bolt action savage. Both set up for long range of course. I know both rounds are capable of moa accuracy all the way out to 1000 or better.
@Velocity4000fps that sounds like a plan bro, with that AR6.5CM, it's payback time to those deers damaging your crops! do you know about snipershide? there's plenty of people there that buys and sells stuff that you may be interested in
@koolmike79 Yep, i hunt deer in the summer, so a fast handling AR in 6.5 CM will be the ticket, with the option to take a long shot if i need to. I already have a R-25 in .243 and it shoots really nice, just want somthing with a little more killing power past 500 yrds in a AR. Yep i have been on snipershide a few times, i should get on and see what i can find, thanx man.
Great shooting, that's really pushing that round to it's max and beyond. It's really tough using holdover once you run out of scope. That's the only reason I went with a USO SN-3 instead of the Nightforce. The EREK knob allows you to adjust the internal position of the erector so you have all of your elevation adjustment for longer ranges. You don't waste any that way. Once again, great shooting and I subscribed.
Thanks... but I know I still need lots and lots of practice. And yes, I've been meaning to buy a USO scope for a while now... but at this time the funds only allows me to buy the NightForce. It's like me being to afford a Corvette (NightForce) and my dream car is a Lamborghini (USO) :D
@koolmike79 Having used both Nightforce and USO I'd say they are both like Lamborghinis but the USO has more options available on it. They're both built like tanks.
What are you using for powder and what is your barrel length? Have you tried the 142 sierra match kings yet? or the 139 Lapua scenars? I have a 4 groove 24" 8 twist krieger on a trued up rem 700 action that love the 142 smks over the 41.5 grains of h4350. my max is about 43.2 grains for the 142. and it is coming out of the gate at around 2850. That 100 fps of velocity makes a big diff. at the ranges you are trying for.
No I haven't tried the 142 SMK as they are more expensive like the Lapuas. But I have bought some 144 FMJ-BT Lapuas as they have the highest BC of all bullets for the 6.5CM at .636. I have tried working up load past 41.5gr of H4350 but it just kept spreading out. I may have to used the 123gr AMAX for the 1 mile shots flyin' at 2930FPS, I can probably extend it further just to see how much my barrel can take this one. Yes the 100FPS does make a lot of difference at ultra long range.
Aaaah crap!!! I knew it, I know someone's going to ask and I deleted the data on my chrono. But as far as I can remember my ES was at 2756 and I can only guess the SD was in between 20-30. I did 5 sets of 20 today and I was in a hurry and didn't set up the chrono again... I will get back to you by next week Monday for the accurate info. I purchased another scope with 100 MOA elevation, 5.5-22x56mm NP-R1 to get me to that 1 mile I've been trying to shoot it out to.
how did you measure the distance? laser rangefinder, odmoder ?
