Great review buddy, I was considering getting either this or the VX Nano or the newer M705 Marathon Mouse, but after seeing this review I'm defintely picking this one up!
I have owned one of these since early '07. It has been excellent, and now I want another one - BUT they no longer make them. The newer model is nowhere near as nice, and from what I can see the MX and the VX are both selling 2nd hand for crazy money on ebay, so why wouldn't Logitech re-release them?
Yeah. I have had mine for over a year and only have replaced the batterie 3 times! Overall it has held up very well with everyday use. I am very impressed.
hey nice video. do u know if u can buy one of the nano receivers from logitech and use it for this mouse? i don't like having the usb dongle sticking out so much and I'd rather use the nano one...
I've been using rechargeable for 8 months. It'd be pretty wasteful and a bit low-tech (vs lithium ion batteries) if it didn't work. Still, if Logitech recommends not to use them, there may be a valid point; I just haven't seen it yet.

i've had this mouse for 4 years and it's still working flawlessly, and the battery life that comes with just one AA battery is great.

Using a rechargeable AA battery would be the same as using a regular AA. Don't know why they would say no, unless they are endorsed by Duracel. :P
