@provyprov Because i definitely haven't recorded me kicking and found out when i kick, it goes 2 feet per yard which is 14 feet in the air by the time it's over the lineman and last time i checked, football players, nor anyone in the world can tip a ball 14 feet in the air. @provyprov I've never been nervous in a game. Not sure why, but every field goal i take is the same over and over, they all go in and i don't care. I will join the NFL, i'll be a walk on at OSU or U of O and be their kicker. Then from there i'll get drafted into the NFL and get paid 800k dollars to kick a ball. I can believe that at elevation with a two inch tee and a 20 mile an hour wind, a high school can make a 75 yard field goal. I kick at sea level without a tee and made a 63 yarder in practice.

thats cool he can make a 75 yarder, but kicking in high school is way different than in college. in hs u use a 1-2 inch tee, so the field goals are practically kickoffs

Is the tee a rule or optional, because I'd like to switch from using a 2 inch tee to off the ground this summer, so my junior year I'm kicking off the ground decent, and then be consistent with it by my senior year.

Tees are optional but I recommend you use one unless you are better without one. If you plan on kicking at a college and moving to the next level I would switch from a 2 inch to a 1 inch block my senior year. This would make the transition to the ground easier. Colleges don't look for if you can kick off the ground, they just look at your kicking.

I was actually at that game. The Bingham kicker from this year did break the state record at I think 62 yards this year during a game. And he did make a 75 yarder (wind aided) for news cameras. The kid (justin sorenson) will play for BYU next year. Watch out for him.

Jake Van Ginkel, a freshman from California, kicked a 58 yard FG.......and a 57 yard FG in the same game last season.

58 yards was the longest in California last year.

He missed a 63 yarder wide left in the last game that would have cleared by 7-10 yards.

It is a hell of a kick, but remember these two words...Scott Bentley. About 10 years ago, he was going to be the next big thing in college football after an outstanding prep career in Aurora,CO. SI even had him on the cover in his Fla St uniform. Once he got to sea level and kicked off the ground, he was good but nothing outstanding.
