this is manipulative and likely most details are left out. she would not have been given ect without being an inpatient in a mental facility. doctors likely thought she would harm her child. it was found to be a barbaric treatment, but something caused her to be admitted. i have seen hundreds of cases of post partum depression, they would never have treated for this. she had a psychotic break.
