Cher is a hell of an entertainer!! I could hardly wait for their weekly program to be broadcast. She was stunning and wore those outfits as if they were her second skin. I wasn't surprised she won an Oscar, because her solos on the show were like little scenes from a movie. She's amazing.

Shame she went insane and thought that she needed surgery to try and stay that way,

I would like to see how she would look now without it. I think she would look incredible if she had allowed herself to age naturally and gracefully.

We had a friend visiting from Thailand some years ago. He was a Cher fan but unaware of her past on American TV.  He was so amazed at seeing some of these old tapes, he walked around for the entire two weeks saying "Ladies and Gentlemen ... Cher!" What more can one say? 5 decades in the business and who can hold a candle to her?

@cher2013 - It's true, I bought the catalog for her auction, and just hanging there by themselves, without Cher-they really don't look the same. I went to an exibit of Jackie Kennedy's clothes one year at the Met, and was very unimpressed. Jackie wasn't there, so it looked like a mannequin display at Macy's. Sometimes the lady makes the clothes. In the case of Mackie and Cher, he designed for her, and she gave him freedom to be fun, daring, throwback, and trendy. Perfect pair-those two.

The Cher show came to an end because Cher decided it was too stressful carrying the show by herself so she decided to ask Sonny to return...hence the 2nd Sonny & Cher show. The Cher show was still very popular when she pulled the plug

I totally agree. The next time she's on a talk show and audience members get to ask her questions, someone needs to ask, will her show come out on DVD? I mean, the Sonny & Cher Show was released! I have a bunch on DVD recorded from various places.
